D&D Does Digital Part III: PDFs

Comixology is a perfect example of the opposite of what people are suggesting for an app. Comixology is not designed to lock content behind an app to stop piracy, Comixology is an app that adds value to legal customers: - It acts as a digital storefront. - It supports open non-DRM formats (PDF...

D&D Does Digital Part III: PDFs

An app is a terrible idea. It has been shown once and again that DRM only hinders legal customers. Pirates are going to keep getting their stuff pirated, so why complicating things for legal customers? Let us have PDFs, epub... Things that are supported in any device without limitations.

Worlds of Design: Kickstarter and the Evolution of Game Crowdfunding

Talking about Kickstarters and RPG, it would be mandatory to talk about Sine Nomine Publishing Kickstarters, they run like a clock. Kevin Crawford has nailed doing Kickstarters down to a science and he always delivers in spades. Every one doing a KS should study how he runs them.

D&D 3.x What great third party 3E product did I miss?

Elements of Magic: Revised: awesome and very flexible magic system. We used this a lot. Cry Havoc: a supplement for battles and war. Really liked it even if it was a little crounchy. D20 Empire and Fields of Blood: I can't read enough supplements about domains and ruling kingdoms. Regards! Vicente

CITY OF BRASS - the Web-Based RPG App Kickstarter Launches!

I will echo what others have said: for a campaign manager where I am going to put so much time and effort, I prefer a non-subscription app. Also, for such heavy data entry applications, I prefer much better desktop applications (and the export capabilities if I want to share things with my...

Createyourminis - design online your own miniatures

Now think from the point of view of the customer. I want to build a miniature: - Every time I want to check a part, I need to wait for a mouse over to see it bigger. That's a lot of waiting. The current previews are too small so they are not usable, and this problem is unrelated of the poly...

Createyourminis - design online your own miniatures

Hi! so after trying Heroforge (but not buying), I was intrigued by your site, and sadly, you really need to get a better website. As it is right now, I would never use it to buy a mini, it's too slow, too hard to use (having to hover all the time to see things in detail is not friendly at all)...

    3D Dungeon Suggestions Needed

Dwarven Forge is amazing, great quality stuff. It's pricy though. You can also check WorldWorks Games Terraclips line (http://www.terraclips3d.com/). It's cardstock terrain but it comes already prepared so it's just assembling the scenario you want. And the quality is amazing. Bad thing is that...

What's up with international shipping on Kickstarter?!?

Good call here. Sine Nomine Publishing does this and it seems to have worked very well for Kevin.

What's up with international shipping on Kickstarter?!?

I didn't say it was attractive, I said it's the best option of the three possibilities available. The other two are: - No international backers. - Trying to guess how much of the campaign you are going to have to spend in international shipping. First possibility is definitively worse than...

What's up with international shipping on Kickstarter?!?

The best idea so far seems to handle it like Evil Hat is doing for Designers & Dragons: shipping will be charged separately after the Kickstarter using Backerkit or any other website for fulfillment of kickstarters. That way shipping doesn't screw your numbers during the campaign and you can...

    Dwarven kingdoms

I seem to remember the Dwarven cities in Dragon Age were on its prime (fuzzy memories, I may be wrong). I think that's the case also in Warcraft.
