Pathfinder 1E Stop thinking of Pathfinder as magazine issues

I've got to say Pathfinder is out of the realm of money I am willing to pay. I subscribed to dragon and dungeon years ago, didn't sub for ten years and started my Dungeon sub at the beginning of the STAP. So I am looking at Pathfinder (gonna get one free for my last two Dungeon issued) but I...

TOB: Stance progression: problems for crusader

I agree. Since there is a mechanism to do so at a cost (a feat) I see no reason to change the progression, especially to make the base classes more powerful.

    Why I WON'T boycott WotC

Boycott is such a strong word, and I think faintly ridiculous in this context. I will continue to buy the WOTC books I like, and skip the ones I don't, and I see no real change. As for the magazines, I will not miss Dragon, as it rarely had anything of value, and will only miss Dungeon a bit (I...

Why Wizards Has Lost Touch w/ Its Base

Yeah, wizards really ticked me off with the Dungeon and Dragon thing. Plus this ill-defined online 'subscription' stuff. I'd really like a choice rather than take it or leave it online content. I did not subscribe to either magazine for years and jsut subscribed to Dungeon to getthe Savae...

    price of a wish

I think it means game balance or something. Allowing players to buy wishes for such a measely price would break any game in half.

    Pimp My Druid!

But seriously, why bother playing a druid with this build? Just go with a plain old fighter.

    Building 16th level Chararcter

If you want to do damage, take the most abusive spell out there (scorching ray is good, or sound lance), and be really rude with it, Take arcane thesis(spell of choice) and Rapid metamagic and a few good metamagic feats like empower, twin and so on (maximize is ok, but not as good as those two)...

Skill Focus: Concentration vs Combat Casting

Hmm, no such thing. But yes, no real eason to take combat casting.

[Rant] Do editing/proofreading errors drive you mad, too?

Read the above quote quickly. Then look back on it. I think you will find it interesting.

Poll: Sandals of Sprinting, too cheap or too expensive?

I'm not voting either to be contrary or to be more contrary, one or the other To me they are about right. Cheap enough a low elvel character can think of buying and using htem, but not really good enough for a high level character to really want in a precious slot.

    Magic Earrings?

I agree. Now just to assign the permenant charisma and wisdom loss for wearing genital and other rings. Based on real life it must be considerable, or just require a substandard score in the first place.

    "Functions while wildshaped" modifier?

Just about everything? No, make that everything.

5th lvl Crusader - my post game thoughts

I do think level 3-7 or so is the TOB's classes strongest areas. They have good attacks, and are getting powerful strikes. (plus choosing to replace one at 4th, 6th and 8th from 1st to 3rd plus is just crazy.) But they will fall off and fall off quickly as they are limited to fighting something...

Whats a reasonable AC at 10th level?

My rule of thumb is level +15 till 5th level, Levle plus 20 till 10th level and then level +25 thereafter. And yes, it is really hard to get there, but that AC will actually cause enemies to occasionally miss with the first attack amd miss a lot with secondary attacks.

[Bo9S] Ruby knight vindicator: clank, clank

I would agree. Allowing Prestige classes to do so is overbalancing.

    Dragonfire Adept or Dragon Shaman?

I find them to be very different playstyle wise. The dragon shaman can be a tank, and has far less versatility than the DA. He gets all seven auras, but then again so does every other DS (unless you get rmeo somehow) He can choose a dragon totem, and since almost all of them grant water...

    Should Goliaths be ECL +2?

I would argue that any LA+1 is too low if you allow buyoff. But for me the goliath is balanced and a good race, easily the best in the Races books.

Equiping a Sorcerer or Wizard for RHOD

At 6th level I am a great fan of Rod of extend, lesser. for 3,ooo gp, you can turn three 6 hour spells into 3 12 hour spells. That takes care of armor for the day for a 6th level caster. If the 6th level guy is a mage, give him a couple of pearls of power for the same general effect.

    Gestalt Support

You might want to ask the Fighter Monk to play something a bit different. It would be a weak gestalt. For your guy, a knight/Marshal--CLeric sounds good. Go full cleric on oe side (cannot beat spellcasting in gestalt, and alternate Knight and Marshal on the other. I would start with a level of...

Which options do you use in your games?

I've used psionics for decades, literally, in all incarnations. I did not wantto intro TOB at first but I picked up TOB recently and I like it. Not sure if it is overpowered yet, but it is a big change. I am growing a character form 1st on slowly and trying outthe ruels. i think overall they...
