    Fractional BAB/Saves

That is a problem for me. Strong + strong = overpowerful and Weak(medium) + weak (medium) = pathetic When talking of multiclassing and prestige classing. I usually use Fractional in my games all the time, gestalt and normal games. It removes one bad reason to multiclass, better saves.

Ways to reduce Arcane Spell Failure

LOL, what bunk. You cannot choose a feat unless you meet the prerequisites. End of story.

Banning Fly, Improved Invisibility, Dimension Door, and Teleport

One thing you could do is make a list of scroll-only spells. They can't be memorized or cast in any way but a scroll Something like that could really limit the use of those spells.

    What's your group's AYCW?

How in the world can you spend 1000 per year? The whole 2007 catalog (including novels) doesn't get this high! In my group one player and I spend about 250 on supplements each while the last guy spends 0, and has since 2nd ed. Back then, he did buy the ENTIRE dark sun line, so that was pretty...

    Favorite Level: DMs

Wow tons of votes for so few comments Me: Player--10th to 15th. Lots of options and things that can be done. DM 5th to 11th.-- Power and a lot of player differentiation. Few game breaking spells, and one shot kills yet, though.

Entangle - A Little Too Strong For A 1st Level Spell?

It is too good. Yes the 15 reflex save rapidly becomes easy, but the str and escape artist don't. Or not much. Plus 40 foot spread is way out of line. Most other similar spreads are 10 or 20 feet. So make the spread 20 feet and at a round a level and it is good. EVen concentration is not bad...

Is there a feat to use Dex bonus for damage?

I'm in the camp that says it would be too good. If you want a similar ability take 3 levels of swashbuckler and you et Int to damage, whcih may be almost as good as your dex

What's the best thread you've started?

Who knows. Probably buried on page 8 or so. Ben a long time

    Best level to play?

Heh, at that level characters are making their own niche whether the DM likes it or not!

Are the alternate base classes becoming core?

Seriously, the sorceror only takes less than half a page more than the wizard. Check the PHB. Invocations would be a lot more. In complete arcane they take up 6 and a half pages (I checked now) I jsut don't see the warlock as core in a mostly 3.5 version of 4E Butthen again i don't think 4E...

What's the best thread you've started?

Hmm, Complete Mage preview or Complete Scoundrel preview I live in Japan so I do quite a fe of those.

    Best level to play?

11th Good abilities, multiclass ing is very possible and you ahve a good bite of a prestige class. But no 7th plus spells.

Are the alternate base classes becoming core?

Assuming they were going to make a 3.75 PHB including some of the new base calsses, I think we need to think about the baggage that will come with the new calsses to be included Warlock 5-8 pages of invocations that only they can use Bo9S 60 pages of Man and Stances that can be used to a slight...

    On-Line Magic Item Cost Calculator

Never seen one, and D&D magic items cannot be made by simple calculations due to the varying nature of spell powerEach custom item requires DM decision-making as to cost.

Pathfinder 1E If Paizo bought Greyhawk could they make their money back?

Isn't that the business way of saying politely, "We were told to go play somewhere else. Preferably in traffic."?

    Newbie Character Advice: Paladin

Nitpicking first You should have 4d10+4 hit points with a 12 con. Skills lookallright and so do your attacks I would think about feats a bit mroe though. You ahve a good defensive setup, for sure, and should be able to keep your armor class high, but in the long run it is a losing proposition...

Are the alternate base classes becoming core?

I still see lots of base classes, because they are more flexible than any of the newer base classes. A favored soul can be cool, and its Mystic mirror-image is evem mroe coool, but a cleric has them beat hands down in nearly every way. (And reflex saves arethe weaket save in the game) The new...

PrCs - which ones are (a bit) over the edge?

Wraithstrike is bad at any level. To fix it I would say next attack, and set it at 3rd level. Better jsut to drop it entirely. It is easy to remove it and fix all the problems associated with it.

Sales of upcoming Greyhawk Ruins will determine it's future

I totally agree. That is my impression of Greyhaowk also. With FR, nothing EVER goes away, and villians are NEVER defeated. You can kick the Cult of the Dragon to the curb from 1st to 40th level and there is always someone a bit bigger who has the same boring reason for existance. And the same...

PrCs - which ones are (a bit) over the edge?

Agreed, Abjurant champion is just plain too good. BAB +5, caster +5 D10 hit points, decent saves, and very very nice abilities, including endless quickened abjurations of 3rd level and lower. (Well, till you run out of slots, which could be a long while.) A Warrior casting dispels, Protetion...
