    Drinking and gaming?

Well, I don't drink at all, and neither does one of the other two I game with, so it is a moot point. The last guy, who drinks semi-regularly outside the game, has only drunk with us at the game two-three times in 10 years. So for my table, I put never.

    Early Ultimate Magus, Yes?

Ive got no problems withthat. Say you go to tenth level Ultimate Magus (without the practiced spellcaster trick), you are 11/11 in your two classes. Add on practiced spellcaster in both and you are 15/15 in CL, plus the +4 you get from Ultimate Magus itself and you get 19/19 at 15th level. That...

More upcoming titles has been released at the WotC site

Not much on that list I want to buy, but I do have to agree, they are some very attractive covers.

What is the preferrable option after a PC death?

Wow, amazingly flat responses. (If youtake outthe 'other' option) For me, as ap layer, I prefer to play till I die and then play something else. To do otehrwise is too Video-gamy for me. But as a DM I like the consistency of having the same characters together as it builds teamwork, and a...

    Enchanting Unarmed Attacks

I would allow the Amulet of Mighty Fists, or a Kensai enhancing his unarmed strikes, but that is about it. I mean after all, if a Monk wants special weapon abilities, they have a whole slew of Monk weapons they can even flurry with. Of course exchaning special effects for damage. But balanced...

Dungeon Tiles - an appreciative note

I saw the 3rd set in a LGS here in Japan, and have placed an order for it form Amazon Japan. Thanks for the review of the Gamemastery ones also. I looked at how thin they were and was leery of buying them. I think I will start with Wizards and then maybe branch out. Is everyoen looking forward...

does CN get a bad rap?

I agree CN gets a bad rap, and deservedly, considering the attitudes most people bring to the alignment. (Like many have said above, "ignore alignment", etc) There are jsut some alignments that don't fit an adventuring group, and CN is one. Why stay with these guys when you disagree with them...

Magic Item Compendium: The Diablo II gems have made their way to D&D!

Ditto. I can deal with, and generally like the power creep in the complete series (Note I do beleive there is power creep there) but with Incarnum, Bo9S, and now this book is just too much.

    Early Ultimate Magus, Yes?

Who exactly did I insult? Or are you stepping up volunteering to be insulted? Legitimate is in the eye of the beholder, especially in the case of this feat. There have been thread upon thread upon thread arguing this point, and so far I have not seen any consensus at all, so your 'legitimate'...

    Early Ultimate Magus, Yes?

Then you have a totally different view of the feat. And your view at least doubles, and probably triples its power. Not a bad character at all, on par or above most of the other character examples they use. But we are not talking about thier version, but an optimal one. If you want to compare...

    Early Ultimate Magus, Yes?

Sigh, when are people going to stop being such rulemonkeys? Practiced spellcaster clearly is only intended to boost your spell's effects when casting, to offset penalties when multiclassing. Simple and clear. Sure they could have worded it better, but that is no excuse to try to break the game...

    Should Prestige Classes Advance Spellcasting?

Now I certainly agree that magic-users get more powerful than melee types at high levels, but I don't think banning prestige classes is the way to go about it. Instead, I would argue that in a fantasy setting it wold make more sense to give the melee classes some kind of magical ability...

    How to stop Tumblers?

Tumble is anotehr example of WOTC's original assumption that people would not play high level characters. Tumble 15/25 is a worry up until about 8th level, when it becomes a joke to go by someone, and at about level 12 to go through a square. And many other skills are the same like diplomacy...

    What is your icon?

Mine is a severely cropped picture of a sunset I had lying around on my computer. Its only purpose is to enable me to find my messages easily when scrolling. For that purpose it is excellent.

Magic Item Compendium: The Diablo II gems have made their way to D&D!

Oh, for the love of ..... the game :) Are they that strapped for ideas? Last think we need is diablo style magic items. Plus the ability to hand these things around with only a MOVE action needed to switch them is just wrong. I was kinda looking forward to this book, because magic items have...

Whould you buy a system-free setting?

LOL, that's not a world, it is a fragment of one. When I say world, I mean world, not a city-state.
