    Zombies! New Dungeoncraft article up

Wendigos are pretty similar, but different. I think a ghoul is a humanoid who went so completely decadent and insane that they became something vile, malevolent and so close to being undead that it hardly matters that they still have functioning organs. It has its old skills and old memories...

    Zombies! New Dungeoncraft article up

For preference I'd really like ghouls to be alive. They would be unholy creatures that feed off death, but they eat to stay alive while zombies eat because that is what zombies do. A ghoul might starve while a zombie will just wander around till it finds something to eat. A ghoul will get...

    Zombies! New Dungeoncraft article up

I don't understand your reasoning here. I figure that, what the things are wearing aside, all zombies of the same basic size are basically the same. Previous skills and abilities are GONE. A tenth level fighter stripped of gear turned zombie and a 1st level commoner zombie in rags turned...

    Zombies! New Dungeoncraft article up

You can probably attack them just like before, I just think the "Turned undead flee from you by the best and fastest means available to them" aspect isn't there anymore. Playing zombie pong was always wierd, zombie pong being generic for anytime we turned undead every ten rounds or so fighting...

    Zombies! New Dungeoncraft article up

I'm betting they stop and glare at you with unholy hunger and/or barely retreat to the edge of your turning radius. What they don't do is flee from you completely.

    Zombies! New Dungeoncraft article up

I'm going to add my voice to the "Love this" crowd. my players are stoked about the changes too. I also am adding my support to the "No zombie template" change. I don't care what the creature used to be, it is a zombie now and the only thing that matters about the previous form is how many...

Can you define the role of the Balor?

Monsters seem to have roles in the same way PCs do. A monster will probably have a role dependant on what it is expected to be doing in that adventure. Orcs are mostly soldiers, but these orcs are elits and that orc is a leader and this orc over here is a brute and so on. I expect them to...

    You're Playing Cards Wrong!

Wow... I've never even HEARD of some of these monopoly house rules. I know that people do it, but I've never been in a game that wasn't a by the numbers game of monopoly complete with fact checking on a regular basis.

How does a Naga cut his hair?

I hate him too. So much. ;)

    A horrible thought!!! (OotS)

Or maybe the campaign will just go along with 3.5 rules like so many other campaigns. Although I like the idea of the Snarl almost getting free as the setting shifting to 4e. That is kinda nifty.

    4 roles - why 5 players?

Market research says 5 players is a more realistic average per table. No one role is required so each player doesn't have to be stuck with a particular role. You don't HAVE to have a separate role for each player so you can just make as many roles as feels right. The design team is...

From WotC_Logan: "Maybe a Charlie Brown Christmass Tree"

Poor Charlie Brown. Not enough ranks in Knowlege Arcana to recognize a philosopher's stone.

So what's gold gonna be for?

How does the Conan RPG handle wealth? I thought that there was an actual mechanical benifit for the Ale and Whores sink, but I can't remember.

    Design & Development: The Warlock

They aren't ditching alignment. They ARE stating an intent to remove alignment from the mechanics of the game. Slight difference.

    Design & Development: The Warlock

This speculation at least has some grounding in the current rules. Yeah, the warlock is looking to be pretty sinister so far. Kinda scary. They weren't forced to be evil in the last edition and since a 4e goal is to remove most of the mechanical effects of alignment it is rather fair to...

Warlocks or Psions. Which matters more to you?

Or not. Sometimes A or B without a third option is a valid question. It isn't always a bad thing to force a choice. For me, I don't put warlocks or psions intrinsically higher than the other, but if the choice was forced I'd have to go with psions. I'd rather see a whole book of psychic...

Warlocks or Psions. Which matters more to you?

Psions are more important to me. Therefore, they get their own book as is just and right.

D&D 4E Which 3.xE settings will not make it to 4E?

I'm betting that the fewer sourcebooks a setting had in 3.5 means the less of a chance it will get a second shot at 4e. At least, until people figure out what they can and can't do with the system. d20 is pretty malleable, 4e may or may not be.

    Dragon's Tail Cut?

Hey, I know what you mean. My favorite campaign setting has a continent that sounds like it is named after a chevy, I suppose I can't gripe too much.
