    Why do a homebrew?

Besides, with out home brews what would all us old grognards do with all of our old high level PCs?? :D

Aristocrat as a viable PC class.

I am of the opinion that "aristocrats" are best simualted using templates of varying degrees of power and obligation. While commomnly powerful, not all aristocrats are necceaasrily rich. They also tend to have extensive responsibilities.

Apotheosis and clergy -- what would you do?

There is alot of truth and power in this statement. A pioneer by definition enjoys substantially more risk than those tht walk the well trodden path. I would proceed with the frame work you have in place and let him "suffer" the inconveniences of these early levels of cleric. But I would...

    Why do a homebrew?

I have always prefered homebrew over pre-packaged. When I was in the military I dropped homebrew in favor of pre-packaged as our groups were usually pretty fluid and short lived so it helped that folks came to the table with a certain amount of assumptions and familiarity. It got the game on its...

    Guilty Pleasures

I'm sorry but I will sing the praises of Hudson Hawk from any mountain. I love that movie. NO ONE else I know personally does. I laugh my fool head off from one end of that flick to the other. Guilty pleasure.. Sniper with Tom Berringer. Man what a weak a$$ premise and script. Can't turn it...

    Worst movies ever....

I'm sorry. I have been outed. I giggle my fool A$$ off everytime I watch this movie. I have the collector's edition (Your welcome Bruce). This one makes it as one of my desert island top ten.

Movies that I just don't get

I love eclectic movies. I thought Magnolia was great. I did not get Punch Drunk Love. I will admit, I own it and have yet to get all the way through it. It s f---ing torture. Eyes wide shut. Huh? (and I actually like most Kubrick films). Meet the Parents. I like dark comedies but that movie...

    When does Verisimilitude break down?

A danderous crickety cart path that vermissitty is. So many places it can jump the path. Mechanics, obviously. Thin setting, yes. GM leaning on the cliche' cane, too often. Players not willin to tote their share o' the responsibility, absolutley. I think the point it starts to break down the...

Campaign Settings: Do you stick to the plan?

I have tinkered with the D20 mechanics so much now with my campaign world that I really don't want to GM in a "standard" setting. I don't mind playing in them. I just can't run them.

    Icewind Dale animated short film

The wrath of ENworld A note from the Motionzoo server... "Over the last few days you might have noticed our site was down. One of the animated films we host started getting linked to at various forums across the internet and our bandwidth got severely raped resulting in our account being...

    Worthwhile Forgotten Realms novels?

I really enjoyed the Moonshae book. I only read the first one. DO NOT waste your money on the "Spellfire" books. Its like actually reading a mad powergaming GM gone all wrong and given full literary license... wait, like my @$$... it is exactly what his books are!!!!!!!!!! Hey, hats off to...

Some times this country can really discourage me...

This was posted over at Coti. Man, there are days in this country if I honestly do wonder what has happened. Two steps forward, three steps back. http://www.msnbc.com/news/958696.asp?0cv=CB10

Worst book WotC made for 3.0?

I would have to add a big vote for the Hero Builders Guide book. It should have come with a disclaimer "only purchase if you have NEVER played ANY rpg EVER before". In that instance it is not a bad book. For 99% of the community it was a waste of a perfectly good tree.

    Player Questionaire

I have used character questionaires many times to help folks define their characters to themselves and also the other characters. The one Arwink posted is the one I use most often.

    [CoC] What is it, exactly?

CoC is one of those things in my experience that was always better in concept than in reality. It is very cool and a very well done derivative work as whole but just never really played all that well as a campaign world. It was cool as a campaign breaker or a one off session but it just really...

    Do fiends reform after killed?

IMCW, creatures of the upper and lower planes are in essence, immortal and would reform in their respective plane with in some random amonut af time between 100-1000 years. However, fiends of Balor level will ALWAYS have some sort of fall back plan for these events. Rarely wil they leave...

[Drawing] Can somone recommend a 'how to draw' book?

On a baic level? One of the best ones is "How to draw comics the Marvel way". Seriously, it breaks the basics down very nicely for basic line drawing type stuff.
