    Aphonion Tales (New posts 6/13, 6/15, 6/19)

Excellent stuff, CP. I'm really enjoying the different perspective of this storyhour - with the PCs involved in running a country - and the epic nature of the unfolding plot. Keep it coming ... :D

Tirlanolir/D'nemy's Tales of Turgos: The Heroes of Goldfire Glen (UPDATE 7/26)

Another entertaining and intriguing update, Canaan. One question that comes to mind from your "background" posts: have you changed the "flavour" of the monk's powers? I recall a thread somehwere on these boards where someone was suggesting changing the name of the monk class and having its...

    A question about swords

Another illustration of the difference in style serraphin is talkimng about arises from the famous (though probbaly apocryphal) story of a meeting between Richard the Lionheart and Saladin. To demonstrate the sharpness and efficacy of his scimitar, Saladin threw a piece of silk into the air...

When Did You Start Playing D+D?

1977 for me. My brother had come home from university in 1976 entusing about this new game he'd been introduced to (though he's remained much more of a wargamer than an RPGer). Then for my birthday in March 1977 he gave me the three book white box set plus the Grayhawk supplement.

The Chronicle of Burne, and Some Others of Lesser Importance *Updated May 17th, 2009*

Very true. Though you can't deny that Burne has a lovely turn of phrase as well ... Where else would you get such an exquisite taste in metaphor? :p

Broken Lands Act II, Orcs on a Mission - Updated 12-Sep-06

Great to see this story back and moving again, Graywolf. I do hope you can fill in the back story at some point - even just in brief summary form! I can quite understand the urge to leap forward to where you're comfortable writing again (hey, if it's good enough for Sepulchrave and Piratecat...

How do gods make themselves known?

How do gods make themselves known? While I'm no expert by any means, I think you'll find that a number of mythologies have gods addressing humans directly: In Genesis God speaks directly to Adam, while the Serpent speaks to Eve. In Egyptian myth, Re becomes the first Pharaoh. In Greek myth...

Tirlanolir/D'nemy's Tales of Turgos: The Heroes of Goldfire Glen (UPDATE 7/26)

Another excellent update. Thank you to both Canaan and D'nemy. :) Certainly looks like the fight with Gothgul and the Witch Tree was a bit touch and go. But it makes for a great tale - Talon driving in the copper nails at just the right moment!! And I'm assuming we'll find out a bit more...

    Aphonion Tales (New posts 6/13, 6/15, 6/19)

I've been reading this storyhour during quiet periods at work over the last week or so, and now I'm caught up, I just wanted to say that I'm mightily impresssed. It's very well written and the campaign world is clearly complex and interesting. Kudos to Cerebral paladin, Ladybird and all others...
