    T.b.r.

Yeah, the Red Garter was a lot of fun. Tonya was only sad that, not knowing the girls or the establishment, she had to be way more reserved than normal in that type of place. We're both hoping to make it back next year to party with the TBRs again. -Dave

How do I love GenCon? Let me count the ways!

It was the combination of the bow tie and the bright green Converse sneakers that made the suit. -Dave

    The perfect gamer wife

So THAT'S what that was... And Tonya thought it was because you liked her. ;) -Dave

How do I love GenCon? Let me count the ways!

I know what you mean. I am in my early forties and have a very minor hearing loss in both ears which doesn't affect anything most of the time. The only time it's a problem is when there's lots of background noise, which meant it was often difficult to hear people's names as I was being...

    WotC New Education Program

Yep, when I saw that the program started last month, I knew I wouldn't be the first to start a thread about it, but I promised a couple of people to find the link... Oh well, the more the merrier. -Dave

    WotC New Education Program

Just a quick note. At GenCon, one of the seminars (Teaching D&D, a very good seminar) briefly talked about a library program Wizards of the Coast is sponsoring. Bill Slavicsek and Dave Noonan said that information would be on the WotC website. I mentioned it to a couple of the librarians I knew...

How do I love GenCon? Let me count the ways!

I don't have much to add that hasn't already been said. Tonya and I had a great time. We especially enjoyed Rel's ORCZ adventure and had a blast gaming with Piratecat, Ethernaut, Fusangite (whose screen name I always used to read as Fungasite - sorry Stuart :o ) and Frukathka. We also enjoyed...

How do I love GenCon? Let me count the ways!

Rel already posted to remind me of that after my page 2 reply in his Perfect Gamer Wife thread... ;) -Dave

I'm not sure when his busride was going to get him home. It might be tomorrow before he can post. -Dave

    The perfect gamer wife

Unfortunately, I have left. Last call was at 3, so the dancer Teflon Billy's friend had "asked" to stay around all evening stopped giving everyone open displays of affection. :( But lest anyone doubt what a good and loving husband Rel is, I am happy to report that he left the club with my...

    GenCon check-in/check-out/scratchpad thread

Returned a few hours ago and had an absolute blast at my first GenCon. I met so many wonderful people, more than I can remember and name. The ENnies were great, a hearty well-done to everyone involved. My big-ticket purchases were the Wilderlands Boxed Set and the Shackled City hardcover. I...

And The ENnie Goes To... (merged)

My friend Tonya and I were VERY impressed with the job that was done by everyone. I'll add that Rel was doing the video and Michael Morris did an excellent job with the presentation slides shown on the huge screen above the stage, so that every nominated product was shown to the whole room as it...

Can someone please address this? (Please?)

Why, is that the only time we can inquire about the state of affairs of a major prize distribution? I would expect that few of the people who donated to the new server drive last November did so for the prizes. We're all wonderful people; hooray for us. I met Kevin and gamed with him at GenCon...

    Sovelior/Sage SRD

Excellent! Glad to hear it. Your internet traffic can still be monitored real time, but opening local files, like the SRD downloaded to the USB key, should not cause any blips on anyone's radar. -Dave

What are you wearing to the ENnies?

Speaking of clothes, it's supposed to be in the mid-to-high eighties this week in Indianapolis. Is the convention center area so well air conditioned that we'll be cold in shorts, or are there so many bodies everywhere that jeans would be way too warm? -Dave who is excitedly starting to pack...

    GenCon Name Badges

Well, the first post announcing the whole thing was made June 28th, so you can think of it as being somewhere between three hours and a month-and-a-half late, if that makes you feel any better. :) -Dave

    Sovelior/Sage SRD

I don't want to get anyone in trouble, but if the browser (and the browser's history and cache) and the web pages are both local to your USB key, there'll be nothing to monitor for network/internet activity. The browser won't be going out to the internet, just to local files on your USB key...
