    Summon Durations

Arg, I've never noticed, that this rule has been abolished! I've memorized this little bugger too well, it seems.

TPK : And you think you know whose fault it is...

The post about someone, who kills regularly his characters, inspired me - I know now a nice method how to integrate new characters of this kind of players easily. And because I don't want have it lost to posterity, I post it here: The party is given a magical stone, which teleports seemingly...

    Your favorite Magic system?

While I see, that someone converted Ars Magica to d20, I would say, that there is no need for doing so - Elements of Magic Revised uses verbs and nouns for naming spell lists. I haven't looked at the link above, but in the case, that you have to make a check for casting in Ars Magica, then there...

    Traditions

I haven't done anything yet, but this is mainly, because RW did such a good job with the traditions in LA, that I'm hard pressed to invent new ones. Creating a tradition which is original seems to be difficult. Yes, there are only two books available, but RW mentioned, that he wants to...

+1 LA for humans & other core races

The argument, that NPCs should be rated differently, because NPCs receive less spotlight than the PCs, has its merit, but it doesn't help, if you aren't consequent. A NPC fighter can strike with his weapons in theory unlimited times - "At Will"! - but does it maybe a dozen times in the single...

EN Publishing - Now In Print!

Having read your explanations (especially about the different business modell), I withdraw, that it could have been unfair. Thanks for clearing this.

+1 LA for humans & other core races

We are comparing the "second" level here - assume a bunch of half-orc fighters, which are given the choice of several packages, which increase their CR - they already have a hit dice, skill points, two feats, etc. My pleasure.:) +0.025.;) It is quite simple - there are many, many more...

EN Publishing - Now In Print!

Perhaps you should read the ad more closely - you don't get only the book, but the PDF, too. Hmm, does someone has then two copies of the PDF? If yes, then the other copy could be sold to someone else.

EN Publishing - Now In Print!

Consider it from the viewpoint of someone, who has bought already the EoMR version: Cost for print product and PDF: $15.95 + $9.95 = $25.9 Comparing to a purchaser without the PDF: $17.95 Price difference: $7.95 That seems to be unfair, at least at the first look. BTW, what is the...

EN Publishing - Now In Print!

Only two dollars? Behemoth allows the entire price of their PDFs, if you buy later the print edition. Isn't this unfair to customers? Or what is your line of reasoning?

    Making Magic less potent.

I wouldn't allow the D6OAO system, because has the advantage of being deadlier in comparison to the d4. This may happen not so often, but I would gamble for this bit of deadliness. RW is writing a skill-based magic system based on EoM, but I haven't seen it, so I can't comment, if this would...

    The (new) Immortals Handbook Thread

Hi UK! I'm helping Roman in this thread with upping the core races, but with "In the Hands of the Earth"-ability I'm beyound my wisdom. Maybe you could shed some light on it - and on some other questions.

+1 LA for humans & other core races

The average CR rating for a class below epic is 1.15, for a wizard 1.23 and for a cleric even 1.32. So it is a bit more powerful, but well within the variance. EN World - Fixing the Half-Orc and EN World - Fixing the Half-Elf? should have some ideas, but I don't find a link to another thread...

+1 LA for humans & other core races

According to UK's CR system, a human has with the base traits ( a +0.3 CR and one point for an ability score is +0.1 CR worth. If you would add a +2 bonus for every ability score, then a human would have a +1.5 CR, not counting hit dice or anything what you get from a class.

    The Box

It isn't generally allowed to use the names of books in a work, except in the section 15 of the OGL. You have to ask the publisher for a permission or remove the reference.

[native english] Translations - Fantasy Language

In German, there isn't a difference between Chemistry and my creation. :p Oh, before some asks, "Donaudampfschiffkapitänsmützenfabrikantentochterheiratseinladungsbriefmarkenkleber" is translated like this: "It is the glue, which is used on stamp, which is used on the invitation for the wedding...

[native english] Translations - Fantasy Language

Like Flyspeck23 mentioned, German has a strong tendency for compound words. In linguistic circles, German is often mentioned as a prime example for an agglutinated language. Hey, when you can create words like "Donaudampfschiffkapitänsmützenfabrikantentochterheiratseinladungsbriefmarkenkleber"...

[native english] Translations - Fantasy Language

The problem with this translation is, that Zauberer is used for wizard and Hexenmeister is used for sorcerer already. IMO, the translation of sorcerer is bad, but I'm not sure, if sorcerer had the correct meaning in English before the advent of 3rd edition. Actually, with the German spelling...

    Iron Lore: Malhavoc's Surprise?

If the magic items aren't necessary for IL characters, does this result into a reduced treasure curve, too? A big part of the treasure are in the core rules the magic items, but this aspect seems to be eliminated. If the IL character has the same amount of treasure as the D&D character, for what...
