I think it will do quite well because they have so many loyal fans but I also wish they would focus on the setting material too. It is really top notice. I haven’t backed any of the ToV stuff but backed almost all their prior stuff.

Great point. Writing is an art. Fair or not, in this day and age I an unlikely to buy a product without visual art. I like the balance of pictures and words. But I hope it does well.

Yeah it will be a no for me. Though I have all the others this book would never be used by me. From the amount of people pre following the Kickstarter it will do fine but I cannot imagine most people ever use the book. Seems will just sit as a collectors item on their shelf. I would peg this...

I find it strange WoTC is going with Abjuration instead of Necromancy. I agree the Necromancy subclass needs some work. It really should be its own class but that is never going to happen. But I have had several people play a Necromancer and I have had Zero players in any of my groups play...

That would be ridiculous. Ultimately the cosmology of every game is up to the DM and players.

In retrospect maybe the license with WoTC is still active but these other options, though less desirable to me, are more lucrative for Goodman. I am sure WoTC takes a hefty fee, probably even a percent of sales, and does not allow PDFs or the use of crowd funding.

It was good. I just wish they gave 5E the full box set treatment.

I suspect WoTC holds the right to the old stuff but what Goodman Game used for their DCC Lankhmar boxed set would make a great OAR- Lankhamr reimagined or some such thing.

Wonder why Lankhmar wasn’t an OAR. They obviously have the license.

I can understand an NDA may have made it so Goodman couldn’t comment on PDFs. I cannot imagine a NDA would cover disclosing the license had expired.

Nah. I think Palace of the Silver Princess with its 2-3 versions and controversial art and the cult classic series Desert of Desolation would be huge hits.

I have the original though I know there were many follow ups. They were ok but each book was progressively worse. I cannot see paying a premium for a back and white update on the previous trap books that were good to fair or worse.

OAR 8 will be Grimstooth’s traps. Has there been an official confirmation that Goodman lost the license or contract with WoTC? Seems like there would be a lot of better options for number 8 if they could still do official classics...

Yeah I have seen it and it looks great but I am never gonna assemble and paint it which is why I would like a pre painted one.

I wish they would do a pre-painted Demon Idol diorama from the 1st edition PHB.

I like Counterspell too and it adds to the flavor of the game. When you think of great magic duels you cannot help think of a great wizard’s ability to preempt or counter the mage they are battling. People are weird about this spell but it is cool and adds an element of strategy.

Yup. I am back to hating the Warlock and the broken short rest mechanic. At this point I just wish they’d get rid of the Warlock and make it a subclass. Though I know that won’t happen.
