Critical Hit/Fumble charts for D20 Star Wars RPG

If you end up having to make your own, here is a link to my House Rules for d20 Star Wars. My best guess at a Fumble/Crit system is in there (near the end). http://home.insightbb.com/~ki.ryn/Morningstar/Morningstar_Rules.pdf

    Skill Trick once per Encounter

Unles otherwise noted, a skill trick can be performed only once per encounter (or once per minute, for scenes that don't involve combat or other conflict).

    Skill Trick once per Encounter

I guess I was assuming that you could only use a given trick once per encounter because no-one is going to fall for the same trick twice. But if you flip over someone for a backstab, I don't think that would really put them on their guard for disguised spell casting or improved healing check...

    Skill Trick once per Encounter

In Complete Scoundrel it says "a character can use a skill trick once per encounter". Did the author mean "a character can use a given skill trick once per encounter"? Wish they had time for playtesting and editing over there at WotC...

    Knife-thrower concept feasibility

I just noticed the Ignore option the other day. Didn't think I'd need it so soon...

    What's up with Finesse?

But a 2nd level wizard with 6 STR and 4 DEX has no problem mastering the estotric combat style of Weapon Finesse should he care too. Makes perfect sense. :uhoh:

    What's up with Finesse?

So they all take it at 3rd level instead, how does that reduce the cookie-cutterness? Why do rogues have to suffer through two levels of swinging their daggers like big meat cleavers before they develop any style? If it's such a universally obvious choice, then Weapon Finess would have just...

    Ultimate 12th level Rogue

I would think Weapon Finesse and TWF are must-haves for any combat oriented rogue. Even limited to just the core books, Assassin ain't a bad choice for a rogue PrC.

    What's up with Finesse?

Out of curiosity from you gurus of game design and theory... What was the reasoning behind making it impossible for a class such as a Bard or Rogue from being able to take Weapon Finesse at 1st level. It seems unduly harsh to make those two classes (who arguably are the most likely to take it)...

    What balances the Warforged?

I just noticed that Warforged have "Bonus Languages: None". Does that mean that a Warforged PC with a 16 INT starts out knowing only Common. The bonus languages that other races get for high INT are just lost?

    Why aren't Beguilers Crafty?

Beguilers do not have the Craft skill. What's up with that? Every PHB class gets the skill (even rogues and wizards, of which a Beguiler is a mix). Beguilers are also INT-based but the WotC dieties gave them the WIS-based Profession skill and not the INT-based Craft skill?! I would have...

    What balances the Warforged?

Ah ok, I thought that they were something in Eberron put in to help balance out the warforged. I'd really rather just stick with Core, Complete, and Eberron books when talking about game balance though (as that seems to be the common ground for most campaigns).

    What balances the Warforged?

I'm looking at #317 and it has everything but warforged. I tried Paizo's site but (as usual) it's broken. If the warforged issue is quite a bit later than #317, that would support my theory.

    What balances the Warforged?

I'm fairly new to Eberron (and just a player, not a DM). Could you give me a pointer to these grafts and symbionts? If they are equivalent to the warforged items, then that will go a long way towards equipment balance (except for the free adamantine full plate at level one of course :) ). EDIT...

    What balances the Warforged?

Sorry, this is a bit of a rant. Feel free to skip it - my questions boils down to the subject line. I had initially thought that Warforged got race-specific item (components, docents, etc.) becase they could not use normal items like everyone else. Now I see that they are in addition to normal...

SW saga edition overview at WotC

Wow, that overview looks really dull and awful. My group really has not had a problem tracking skill points, or reputation, or Wounds. But I'm sure "d20 StarWars for Dummies" will sell to a (literally) wider audience and that's what count$.

    Does Detect Evil detect evil?

Ok, I guess the spell is perfectly clear and there is absolutely no room for improvement or further clarification anywhere in the text. Woe unto he who questions the WotC! question withdrawn (but I still hate paladins)

What use is the Beguiler ability "Surprise Casting"?

Thanks for the information - I hadn't though about the synergy with Cloaked Casting. I guess I'll have to put points into Concentration after all (my PHBII says they still get an AoO).
