Fablecraft - Have you seen the ads? What are your thoughts?

So Fablecraft is going to be a TTRPG but built to be online. There is a kickstarter with the lowest tier that actually gets a Steam key for the Beta being $9, at actual release this tier is going to be free I believe (Beta seems to be from August 2023, and aiming to go open to all next year)...

    Picard Season 3

Of course you can, but why when there is a whole culture that is under represented, not make the effort do something new. Yes it is lazy. Plays are a little different than movies, I think you would agree. Repeat performances are needed so people can get to see it, each performance is different...

    Picard Season 3

Well of course it is, it is copying. Come up with some new stories Disney, maybe look into folk tales outside of Europe? To be honest the changes to Sebastian bother me more, how's he gonna smile?

    Images to spark creativity

Tharsis is a fun little computer game, pretty cheap on Steam from what I remember, and good inspiration if you ever fancy running a more hard sci-fi deep space mission scenario.

D&D 5E (2024) Rests should be dropped. Stop conflating survival mechanics with resource recovery.

I'm not sure you've made the point that it is a better survival mechanic. I mean the rest system, might have some flaws for some folks, but it is at least written out as rules, that can be understood, and doesn't take a whole lot of extra book keeping. It has verisimilitude built in because...

There is now 880 episodes of Star Trek and 13 movies

I suspect it won't beat it for much longer. Considering the different rates of releases.

    Picard Season 3

And yet these old Borg didn't seem to adapt to attacks or have any of the menace they use to have. I generally like the season until the Borg showed up as the villains, it went down hill from there.

They seemed to ignore the conclusion of season two as well as the characters.

    Dice pool game design woes

The Spartacus Board game uses opposed rolls, you then match dice highest to lowest (defender winning ties), if the dice is unopposed you need to roll at least a 3 for it to count, but if it is opposed and they roll a 1 and you roll a 2, it is still a success.

    Dice pool game design woes

It's a feature not a problem. There solved it for you. If they want to succeed they need to lower the TN some how, like taking extra time, or getting help. To be honest I think that issue is the least of the problems looking at that probability chart, it isn't at all intuitive. Having a skill...

LOL, Emberashh used the same tactic on me. It's the wonderful block feature that lets you win every debate by only seeing your side of it. How they cope with the real world is a mystery.

The "I Didn't Comment in Another Thread" Thread

I'll guess I'll have to stop, deliberately trolling trying to understand what you mean since I can no longer see anything you are posting. What sort of person does a quote reply after blocking you?

If they ever do explain how this is meant to work could someone explain it too me. Since everything bar the original post has disappeared.

So your verisimilitude has you being able to gather whatever you want wherever you want, regardless of if X resource could logically be there... or does it not really matter what resource you are gathering, that are just resource points towards making mana and stamina potions, it could be fungus...

You said you can gather while travelling, forgive me if I believed the implication from that is that you couldn't gather while not travelling. Or you wouldn't be able to find X ingredient on say a plane where X doesn't exist, or in a dungeon where it couldn't grow, or a city with the same...
