Forgotten Realms: Do players care about canon?

I'm lucky in the sense that my players are not drinking the canon kool-aid. 3 out of 4(sometimes 5) even read many of the novels. We have an understanding that if it doesn't work for our campaign or its stupid (according to me) I'll change it. They have no problems with this and actually prefer...

    Wilderlands too old?

I think to actually index this thing you'd need almost another book entirely. It would make finding those giant frog encounters much easier though.

    Wilderlands too old?

Actually you point out a rather huge flaw in the billing of this product. It is by no stretch of the imagaination the "most detailed campaign setting ever". I've always wondered how they can say that being a long time FR user it just makes me kinda giggle. As far as innovation goes, perhaps I...

    Wilderlands too old?

I like the wide open, put anything into the setting you want feel of the Wilderlands. I don't need to be spoon-fed every detail of a town, kingdom etc. The freedom to add details, pull in virtually anything I find from any other source book without having to rewrite an entire region is one of...

...Mystery Man, Taurus has already left the scene. :heh: I fixed my post then. lol.

    Forgotten Realms

You know I forgot about the Volo's Guides, those really are great. What I like about the Grey box is the smaller much easier to manage pantheon, (Bhaal - now there's a mean ass god) and the wide openness of it.

Should 4th ed be point and level based?

I think it should be based on how far you can hawk a loogey. I go for distance as well as accuracy. :]
