WotC just mailed out VILLAGE OF HOMMLET 4E..got mine

Don't know for sure, but it's unlikely. The back cover doesn't have an ISBN number or barcode which is sorta necessary to sell in stores nowadays.

WotC just mailed out VILLAGE OF HOMMLET 4E..got mine

Woot! Just got mine today as well. Keeping it in the shrink wrap though as a collectible. I'm pretty sure several people in the local area will get theirs as well and I'll just play at their tables :) I agree that it sucks for those that want it but wasn't an RPGA member...but if this...

    The dual-wielding swordmage?

I agree with the Genasi. If you MC into wizard, you can add your Str damage to all your arcane elemental attacks with Elemental Empowerment. Elemental Echoes also adds another bonus to hit/damage.

    Understanding 'Hunting Party'

Very unclear, I agree. I'm in the 'apply damage once' camp, but I can see the point of view of others who think you can apply it as many times as the ranger misses. I just think that it was poorly edited and they didn't consider multiple attacks at all. Just an opinion of course. But the...

    Monk Preview

Sounds like a quest! The party needs to hunt down and capture a rust monster so they can feed it unneeded magic items so they can harvest the pure residuum at full value...

4E, the Grind and Why I Play

You've said that you've only dabbled, so it might not be that apparent, but the roles are not set in stone. Right now in the RPGA LFR campaign, I have: * 10th level Genasi Warlord/Wizard that acts more like a controller than a leader * 8th level Warforged (Gondsman) Fighter that multi-classed...

    My Wizard Build, suggestions?

I've found mage hand to be sufficient to switch implements around as a minor action. Or better yet, just wield two implements. Apparently, according to both customer service and recent character build changes, you can dual wield a staff if using it an implement, so you can use any two...

    So, lulu's not the best option . . . ?

Have you looked at the various comic POD sites like Kablam? I think that a company that can do tradebacks and graphic novels should be able to do a game supplement fairly easily. Here's a quick link done by a webcomic guy comparing various PODs. It should give you a good place to start...

    Resourceful Presence

You want your DM to have apoplexy? Have everyone in the party play either a Taclord or Resourceful Warlord and take the relevant feats to make their class feature stronger. You can multi-class heavily later to get all the required roles filled in. If all of them had 18 Int, and you had three...

WotC: Character Builder's effect on Third Party Publishers

Wasn't one of the touted features from before the ability for DMs to incorporate house rules into DDI? Did that fall by the wayside? To be honest, I really never thought about this before. Most of my play these days is with the RPGA since it's so convenient (I don't have to worry about...

    Hybrid classes (4e playtest)

A paladin/Wis cleric gets really interesting once they hit Paragon level and take Hospitaler.

    super basic shield question

Yeah, shield is usually the default Wizard utility 2 spell for most people. But if you're a smart wizard, it will rarely come into play if you position yourself properly. It's more useful for an up-close type of wizard (possibly one with plenty of close burst/blast powers). I've had great fun...

Bard's Summer Rhymer Paragon Path and Vigorous Cadence Daily Power

It's quite nice, but not at all broken. Take a look at the Hospitaler class features for instance (paladin, PHB).

    Removing Class Roles

Well, the latest Dragon magazine excerpts had a playtest of the dual class feature that is supposed to come up in a future supplement. In it, they defined some class abilities that they thought were central to the role, and allowed the PC to take on others using a feat. So if you want to know...

D&D 4E Has there been a Charm Spell in 4e?

Well technically, the design goal was to not make a single class absolutely needed, not that all features are available to all classes. Those bard only spells are nice to have, but are hardly essential and can be accomplished by other classes using diplomacy, bluff, intimidate, or even plain...

    Whats your favorite tier?

I haven't really tried Epic yet, but I've enjoyed both Heroic and Paragon. I think I slightly prefer the greater number of options at Paragon, though it's a slight preference. As someone else has stated, there wasn't really a big jump in difficulty once you get to Paragon level that I...

    GTS 2009 D&D Seminar - the Rouse discusses D&D

Might I make a suggestion? Have someone in your office scour the internet for fantasy/RPG webcomics. There are hundreds out there, convenienty organized into various lists. Individually, they might not have more than a couple thousand readers or so (some in the tens of thousands), but taken...

So, any consensus on PHB2 powerhouses?

The swordmage isn't overpowered. However, prior to the introduction of the Templar, it had the potential to have the highest AC in the game, so lots of people were saying that it's the best defender (since AC is the stat that is attacked the most). I actually think that swordmages are somewhat...

So, any consensus on PHB2 powerhouses?

Heh. But there really isn't much to discuss. There are just more ways for weapon power users to spend feats to increase their damage right now. As more books come out, we'll see some of that imbalance go away. For instance, Arcane Power has a feat that allows implement users to wield a...
