I would like to put The Expanse back on the list since it was not released in 2018. The Kickstarter finished in August and they list an expected delivery of January 2019. As we all know, Kickstarters often face unexpected delays so I think it is safe to put this one back on the list.

I am curious too. I also prefer to DM than to play. I don't mind playing but I've DM'd so much that I can be a bit annoying as I know all the tricks of the trade.

The issue I have with your comparison is that you don't have to order all the entrees and appetizers all on the same visit, and nothing prevents me from trying a new entree and appetizer every time I go there. Same thing with D&D. Having a multitude of options doesn't mean I have to have them...

Same here. I know that megadungeons are all the rage these days but I'm at the other end of the spectrum where I prefer my campaigns with fewer and smaller dungeons.

One thing I find strange is that the proficiency rank with spells goes up only in the upper levels (all after level 10) instead of regularly throughout the 20 levels. Wouldn't it make more sense to have them at something like level 6, 10, 13, 17?

I would suggest Primetime Adventures which is a very cool game where you create a tv show. The conflict resolution system uses a pack of regular cards. It has been out for a while now and is in its second edition.
