    Reinventing the Cyberpunk genre!

Check out Trans-Human Space by GUPRS. Awesome setting, and quite cyberpunk. Uses a mix of hard and soft Sci-Fi to deliver a gritty and ugly future where mankind has colonized the solar system but can't escape it. Edit: Spelling

    Mongoose Publishing's Rep...?

My only experiences with Mongoose was their early stuff, they flooded the D20 market with substandard material in both content and editing (IMO). I was so disgusted by what I was seeing that I completly lost any respect for the company and their products and expressed that opinion to all my...

    C&C and HM = D&D?

Wow... this thread conversation really is happening... again, and again, and again... Kinda like a photograph with a shiney camera lense taken into a mirror... when do the images stop...?

    What would you have done?

This is approaching the nutty level. They are adventurers trying to rescue a lord who is being held and tortured by an evil undead Sorceress who is taunting them with visions of it in their dreams. You do the math. Look folks, we don't live in a midevil society. D&D doesn't even try to simulate...

    What would you have done?

It may have been a subconcious concern, but at the time I was just reacting. Over the next few days I was just stewing. When the email went out I was just venting. I collected a fair amount of the World of Darkness materials because I enjoyed reading it, but didn't ever consider running a game...

    What would you have done?

Their mission was self appointed. They were trying to save Lord Randal Morn from being tortured to death, and having seen first hand the evils in Daggerfalls and Daggerdale as a whole (from previous adventures) they wanted to see the Zhents influence there ended. They also hated the Zhents from...

    What would you have done?

Yes he will hang them. No, he is dispensing Justice and IMO this is consistant with his Paladin's code. He must protect the meek, and though he dislikes executions this is his decision. He as the ruler of Shadowdale DOES have the moral duty to met out death as punishment. This gets into moral...

    What would you have done?

The group didn't have the moral authority to play judge, jury, and executioner once the active resistance to end their lives had stopped. The fight was over, the prisoners were helpless and had surrendered and given themselves to the mercy of the PC's. The PC's were no longer activly defending...

Not going to pursue this one. ;) Will just say that I've been married 16 years to the most beautiful and perfect woman in the world.

    What would you have done?

I'm not sure I'm qualified to answer your questions John, but I can offer an example from the same game that started this thread. The overall story arc is that the PC's showed up in Shadowdale because they wanted to become Harpers. They were looking to contact Storm Silverhand herself and...

    What would you have done?

Responses to many posts - John Morrow - I did in fact read the article as promised but didn't post a reply as you invited me not to. Very interesting article by the way, I'm an emotional person just like my mother, and I can see how emotions play a large part in my decision making processes. I...

    Wandering books and sticky fingers

I think your ultimatim and restrictions are the wrong approach personally. If I were in your group, I'd understand, but wouldn't be able to help feel a little put off by the "don't touch my books at all" approach. Instead I'd tell the group exactly what you put into this thread on Enworld. Tell...

    What would you have done?

You have a good argument, though the facts are a little mixed. The Zhents cared nothing for the Gnomes. The Undead Sorceress who ruled (in very loose terms) the Spiderhaunt Forest was slowly exterminating them. The Gnomes were a side thread to the Randal Morn adventure, though in truth, they are...

    What would you have done?

I think my objection moved through a series of emotions, from initial suprise and disbelief, to outrage when they defended it the way they did, to disgust as I dwelt upon it afterwards. I've gamed with these guys in some cases for decades, and they are my close personal friends. When I was told...

    C&C and HM = D&D?

How about this one, D&D is such a wonderful and personal game that everyone who loves it as we do, takes such personal ownership of whichever rules they prefer, that WE ARE ALL RIGHT! :)

    C&C and HM = D&D?

Just to be a Cad Yep, legally what you call D20 fantasy is D&D Gentlegamer. Arneson settled the lawsuit, WoTC recieved legal rights to the name, and they called their D20 game D&D. You can argue content, but the name of the game is legally D&D. :p :)
