Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

Hmmmmmm..... A Microlite20 'DM's Guide' kinda thing might not be a bad idea. You could yank monsters from the regular rule page, and put 'em on the back of a GM's page. Then you'd have a one-pager for players, and another for the GM. Regards, Darrell

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

Hello-- I'll work on adding durations to the spell list this evening. Thing is, I'd meant to go in and add them before I posted, but it slipped my mind. I guess I was too anxious to see what you all thought about 'em. :) As far as hit points go, I like the +1d6/level better than that...

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

Oh, and, uh... Here's an adapted equipment list, too. Two pages again. My attachments are the same size as the rules page itself. Oh, well... Again, let me know what you think. Regards, Darrell

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

Hi, there! I've been working on a spell list for Microlite20 since yesterday, and here it is. 2 pages, one for arcane spells and one for divine spells. I used 7 arcane spells and 6 divine spells per level, and tried to limit things to spells I thought would be highly manageable on the fly...

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

Ran a game as a one-shot last night using these rules, and now my group wants to use them again next week. Everything runs so quickly using Microlite20 that we actually have time to concentrate on the game, rather than the rules. Bravo! BTW, I second (or third, fourth, or whatever) the call...

At what Cover Price do you Drop?

Hi, James-- I have to say, that does have a lot to do with it in my case. The paper quality isn't that bad, but the amount of ads has really started to turn me off. I accepted the number of ads for a long time under the reasoning that they were necessary for keeping the cover price stable...

New Movies on the Way from Amazon - Which to Watch First?

Hmmmm.... Dragon World The pseudo-documentary from Animal Planet? It was OK, except for the framing story with the young scientist guy. The CGI dragon stuff is pretty cool. All in all, it makes a decent watch with your finger on the fast-forward button. Femalien Depends on how much you...

What's the big deal with point buy?

Hmmm... Without having read the entire thread (only the first few pages), I'm moderately interested in this discussion, as I've all but abandoned both the rolling and the point-buy methods. In the games I run now, we use the "Elite Array" method for stats (often with no racial modifiers)...

How to change a .doc to a .jpg?

If you can't just copy and paste from MSWord to MSPaint or something, try this... There's a free program somewhere online called "CuteWriter" (try Googling it) that loads a printer driver that lets you convert a .doc to a .pdf file. You could try making a .pdf of the map, the use the "Seclect...

What are your top 5 fantasy movies?

My Choices: Lord of the Rings (Extended Trilogy) --- I consider it to be one film, too. The 13th Warrior King Arthur Dragonslayer Willow 13th Warrior and King Arthur are high on my list because I've always been a fan of the "Well, I know what the legend says, but it can't be that way...

Are halflings hobbits in your game?

I have nothing against hobbits, and love Lord of the Rings (books and movies); but I vastly prefer the 3.X halflings. If I were going to change one of the 3.X races into hobbits, it'd probably be gnomes. Get rid of any 'techno-experimentation' angle (because I absolutely despise the...

1st edition adventures updated to 3 or 3.5?

Hi, there-- Just in case ya don't know, 3.5 conversions of White Plume Mountain and Tomb of Horrors are on the 'Downloads' section of the WotC website. Regards, Darrell King

    Creepy...

One of my favorites from years ago (in college): The party had been after the key to a door they couldn't seem to open, and had found that the key had been placed in a tomb. I had planned a "Tomb of Horrors"-ish adventure, with death-traps at every turn, but on the night when the adventure was...

My Deluxe Character Sheet - please rate and critique!

Again, great work! I actually kind of liked the weapons section better the other way, but the inventory list is better in the newer one. Either way, these are (as I said before) some of the best character sheets I've ever seen. :) Looks like I gotta get to work 'customizing' this one, too...

My Deluxe Character Sheet - please rate and critique!

Quite frankly, these are some of the best character sheets I've ever seen. The only things I had any real quibbles with were a few minor 'house rule-y' bits (multiple 'Appraise' slots, FR language list, etc.); and because it was in .doc format instead of .pdf, it took me all of about five...

d20 Modern Dark*Matter hardcover from WotC?!?

Damn! I've never really been that interested in d20 Modern, but a DarkMatter HC will almost force me to buy it. It was literally the only reason I ever bought the Alternity books. I read through the setting book in the LGS, and had to have it. If it's gonna be updated to d20, I'm gettin'...

Settlement Maps (updated - abandoned house map)

Wow. I stumbled across this thread a few days ago, and I have to say, I'm impressed. I always seem to be needing small communities for a party to stop in, and these will fill the bill quite nicely. The maps are beautiful, and the settlement layouts seem to me to be well thought-out. Have you...

Does a printed option make you more likely to buy?

I pretty much never buy pdf products, so yes, it would make me more likely to buy if there were a print option...provided the material was of good quality (which I'm assuming is a given, though I haven't purchased any of the material to date), and was appropriate to my game/group. Regards...
