I usually set up a pantheon of gods in terms of mythological associations (family tree, creator...destroyer, ect) and then have each god/dess represent different or multiple aspects (love, hate, vengence, compassion, ect). I then give each god multiple names based on cultural perspective...

I assure you it was quite on purpose. I'm a big fan of Garry Neil Kennedy...and if I've learned anything from his work...it's that you can never trust signs. Did one of my undergrads there. And it's great to see other artsy-fartsies haunting the boards.

Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie....and it's great to see Nick Hornby make the list--he has several amazing novels. I've read the first chapter of Satanic Verses hundreds of times...it is mesmerising to me...can't really pin down only one reason for it though.
