Can a dozen orcs challenge a 17th level party?

Superior terrain Height advantage, with escape tunnels, with planned traps Desicive tactics Hit and run, hide, hit and run, hide Well equiped Poison, poison, and more poison, tanglefoot bags, thunderstones, ranged weapons (hopefully with strength modifiers) Of course there is...

Small guys getting the shaft at rpgnow

Is the problem a type of $/square inch storefrontage issue? Because I really don't think that mentality really translates well to internet sales. I think the poster might be more offended by being told what to do and how to do it--as opposed to the potential benifits being offered by the new...

    Fall Ceramic Dm™ - Winner!

Oops. I guess I should mention that my images are ordered in the sequence I used them...not from which they appeared. They should link to the proper images.

    Explain Canada

That's a nice little rumour you've got going there. I'd just like to add that that the following universities made The Times Higher Education Supplement list of top universities: McGill, UofT, UBC, Waterloo, McMaster, UofA, University de Montreal (as of 2004). McGill receiving the second...

Cracked Pavement by Wild Gazebo Image One 366 Emaner Street. Shifting patterns of French quarter mingled with the rich aroma of fried shrimp and gutter coloured my future. I can still hear the buzzing echoes of the quiet city street. The bitter calls of my frustrated Mother tasted of...

I'm kinda not really reading the submissions. I'm just skimming to see what stage the contest is at. I have more fun that way. I'll be able to read everything all at once after the round is over for a fresh comparisson...perhaps I'm weird.

This bard thinks he has the X factor

I had a gnomish bard whose chosen instrument was a pipe organ. He commissioned one to be built into a fully mobile wagon that he could live out of...it was monstrous. The party turned into a travelling show...that robbed communities blind...I was young. <shrug> Other favorites: Dwarven...

    Describing movement through cities

I describe cities the same way I describe forests--except I make them louder and smellier.

I've got a pretty erratic schedule but I'd like to give it a try. When do we find out dates and times? I'll have to do some creative scheduling--but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to manage. Count me in.

    Help with the beginning

I honestly enjoy lower level games more than higher level games. I tend to stick to humaniod encounters and urban adventures. I tend to implant the idea that travelling in small groups into 'monster' infested wilderness is a bad idea without sufficient resources and manpower. And as the...

    Cheating and D&D

I never make an issue of it. If someone has more fun fudging rolls...so be it. If someone tries to fudge resources I gently correct them--I feel that affects the quality of the game more than the occasional 'creative roll'...and the fun for the other players. I have yet to see blatant...

For the first time ever, I've banned a player class from my table

I highly suggest maintaining 'time' and 'resource' as a determinate struggle with the artificer. Those two modifiers are really the bread and butter of the class...without them, artificers are just fancy tradesmen. I haven't had a problem yet with the class...and have found them quite colourful.
