D&D 4E 4e house rules based on the rogue preview

Well, I am assuming that the longsword will be medium sized. I could be making an @$s of u and me. :D As for all weapon restrictions... we'll see. I would have preferred they made certain abilities better with certain weapons instead of flat restrictions (like S.A. 1d4, or 2d6 with light...

D&D 4E My 4e Class design hubris: advice needed

There was a recent post by mearls http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=218978 seems to hint at this. If classless d&d is possible, then what you are suggesting should be easier.

    Technical Web Help: Ampersand article

This keeps happening to me and it sort of pisses me off. I'm not paying for that! (perhaps I'll have to make those cards for myself)

Wizards: We want Class Power decks

YES! Assuming the blank spots are reserved for art. One of the most useful things in the bo9s was the maneuver cards. I could see this type of thing in the ddi. I would pay for that.

D&D 4E 4e house rules based on the rogue preview

Yeah, I agree. I plan on playing at least a few sessions before I change anything. These are the things that just stuck out for me.

D&D 4E 4e house rules based on the rogue preview

While I liked a lot of what I've seen in the rogue preview, there are a few changes that I will probably make (though I realize context is important so we’ll see). #1: Trained skills- I'm inclined to allow rogue pc's to just select 6. #2: Replace any "light blade" requirement to "light...

D&D 5E (2014) What do YOU Want to See Next?

All this talk about rituals makes me wonder; will there be a martial equivalent to rituals? Will there be martial rituals? Will rituals be universal? Also, I wonder about multiclassing as well.

    PHB classes: fact or rumor

I don't have the book but I'm pretty sure somebody said it's in R&C that they have a 'primal' (or something like that) power source. I think we only have arcane, martial and divine in thePHB1.

    Turn Undead should be removed!

I'd rather a 'divine power' mechanic that had a functinal use in most situations (healing?) that allowed a feat or something for turning undead. EDIT: Or just a true believer feat as was mentioned.

    Undead taxonomy

I didn't realize D&D defined the animus. Very good then. I still like the idea of an Undead taxonomical project.

    Undead taxonomy

Hmmm, I'm not an English major so I could be wrong here but it really looks like a zombie, for example, may or may not have animus depending on the specific definition one uses and how you fluff your zombies. I could see the zombie having the italicized definition of animus very easily...

    Turn Undead should be removed!

I'm really not a fan of narrow, specific bonuses/abilities like turn undead and favored enemy. I think one of the best things about divine feats in 3.5 was the fact that you could use turn undead attempts when there were no undead to be found. I think it would be really annoying as a player to...

    D&D 4E Testing "Try 4e" house rules

I agree. I would even give the rogue free skill tricks at x levels (I figure they're the beginnings of the rogues per encounter powers.) I wish there was a simple mechanic to ease spellcaster multiclassing. Can't think of anything other than caster level= previous caster level + 1/2 other...

    The Reduction of Uncertainty

I always liked the 'clean up'. Of course, I almost always play evil characters. :] EDIT: There is meaning in this. I get to freak the other PC's out with my bullying/torturing ways. (hey, that goblin might know something!) It can create an interesting party dynamic.

    Stephen Schubert's Playtest Reports

I once had a player roll an 18 00 [2e ftr] but that takes it. That puts 6 N20s to bed. EDIT: any combo of 6 numbers on a D20 has the same odds, but those 18s...

    D&D 4E Weapon variety in 4E

I wonder about sunder rules in 4e. What if your sword gets smashed?

    D&D 4E Weapon variety in 4E

This is the thing that worries me about weapon specific powers. Will my fighter be able to diversify without feeling gimped? I'm thinking in terms of 3.x feats though. Perhaps fighters recieve so many powers at a given level that they have to diversify at least a little. That might work for me.

Metagame role of PoL compared to alignment

QFT! And also, what's wrong with a little amoral mercanary bloodfest now and again? :D
