Ryan Dancey speaks - the Most Successful Year for Fantasy RPGaming ever. However...

Hey Ralts, I don't think Hasbro is mucking about with the DDO property like wizards did with the core tools thing. Atari and Turbine are putting it together, check out www.ddo.com. Looks sweet, sounds good, I guess we will see.

2006 - Green Ronin returns to adventures with Bleeding Edge line

Nostalgia products is not really a trend, unless you count 5 years and running as a trend. People really like the old style. This site used to have a huge library of conversions from the Eric Noah's 3rd Ed News site days, might still. Necromancer Games, and Goodman Games, the only companies...

Dice Pool Mechanic vs. Single Die

Just got done looking over the skill mechanic for Burning Wheel. One of the big points that I see in the marketing lit for BW is the idea that difficulty numbers are determined by the player and not the GM. This is a bunch of baloney. Here's why: A die pool with x number of dice that need...

Ryan Dancey speaks - the Most Successful Year for Fantasy RPGaming ever. However...

I think the corprate model will collapse. However the groups that continue will work off of the OGL and d20 SRD to create a pdf sub market. Print WILL go by the wayside.

    Towards a Workable RPG Theory

The wikipedia entry for role playing game covers it pretty well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Role-playing_game

How do you deal with Wizard specialists when there aren't enough spells?

Other: Get Eldritch Sorcery from Necromancer Games.

Perhaps I am a little too paranoid, just want to be careful.

    PC Development Timespan

Actually travel and projects can eat up a lot of time. In my Boreal sun Campaign the characters aged two years. And that was up until 7th level. The best way I have found to do ageing however is to do the adventures episodicly. Account for travel. Also tie your game to the celestial...

    Dreadmire? Swamp Sourcebook

Apparently Psion should be getting one. But we will see. I just think we should keep quiet about it until its quality is proven. That means limiting even the most veiled disparaging remarks. The reputation of a well respected publisher of d20 material (but not the publisher of this book)...

    Dreadmire? Swamp Sourcebook

That said if the book is crap then it will speak for itself, but I really think the book should speak for itself. It needs to get reviewed by someone that does not cringe when they hear the author's name. I needs to get the full run through that all others get at this site. Aaron.

    Dreadmire? Swamp Sourcebook

I highly suggest a moderator clean up the links in the least. That stuff does not need to happen here. I would like EN World to look at the book for its own merits rather than have a huge flame war associated with it. Aaron.

    Ignore lists?

How do I add someone to my ignore list? Is there such a thing? When I am reading a thread, I have regularly noticed that there are a few posters that like to do ther disertations on EN World. They are filled with ussually secondary debates to the topic at hand and take a lot of time to scroll...

    Dreadmire? Swamp Sourcebook

I hope that does not happen. I would really like to see what people who have no idea what site the link might lead to think of the product.

    Wizard Staff Mechanics

I use the magic item mechanic from AU/AE. So a staff is a big wand. Though I like the idea of an arcane focus that Plane Sailing put forward. I think there is a version of that in the Blackmoor setting, but a bit rules heavy. The item familiar stuff is just too complicated, and besides...

    The santa thread

I have thought that I would celebrate St. Nicholas' day (see below) with my children when I have them. Being christian I have been told not to lie and to treat others as I would like them to treat me. While I believed in Santa, I remember being sad that he always brought the big present, and...
