    D&D 4E Paizo and 4e.

Oh, lots of people get it. It is abundantly clear, with millions of lines of text on messageboards as evidence. Many have witnessed the fans of <insert favorite game with multiple revs> complaining about the new revision in game stores, at the gaming table, at cons, etc... I think all of us...

POLL: Would you play D&D without a Skill System?

I'm quite happy to play either way, though my preference is without a skill system. In my experience, D&D w/out and D&D w/ skills are related, but definitely different beasts, and the actual play is a bit of an apples and oranges, well, maybe lemons and limes comparison. I also think highly of...

    What's wrong with Mini-Centric?

I can only give my personal perspective, and perhaps this can help the OP understand the dislike of mini-centric D&D. Let me start with this: I love mini games like Chainmail, Reaper Warlord, and an assortment of hex-less measurement and hex based miniature skirmish/war games. I love D&D...

Which of the following 3E D&D adventures have you played or ran?

None. In the nearly 4 years I ran 3.x, it was all homebrew.

Will you buy the preview books?

Nope. I most likely won't get a chance (or have the ambition) to run or play 4e until well after the core 3 are out. No point for me to buy the preview.

    Elder Evils Cover - Kyuss?

Why do I keep reading this product title as "Elder Elvis"?

"Run as Written" or "Adapt as Desired"

I generally hack them to bits.

Must you have and use every book for D&D

Me too. Heh. Enough that it forms the basis of the modern tabletop RPG industry.

    Is it still D&D?

That's about where I am as well, with the emphasis added. I play 3.5, but I'm done with DMing it. It just isn't an enjoyable experience for me. Meanwhile, my 1e AD&D game that I do DM is moving along quite well. In the bigger picture, I game with people, not rulebooks. The folks I'm...

D&D 4E 4E boon or bust for Old School support?

Exactly. And in my case, who cares? I mean, I snap up the Goodman 1e modules at GenCon, buy the stuff Kuntz puts out, and own most of the OSRIC products. I appreciate it, like most of it, and support the authors and their efforts through my purchases. However, if it all dried up tomorrow, or...

Thieves guilds and Assassins guilds 1E era

No, not really. However, Nigel Findley wrote a book called "Thieves of Lankhmar" for 2e Lankhmar, and it's OK. Valiant, I'd look at the Gamelords Thieve's Guild stuff if you can find it. Not heavy on the maps, but pretty good material, overall.

    Continued Support

Same here. I haven't bought anything from WotC since UA. I've only purchased a few adventures from Necromancer, GoodMan, and XRP since, and in PDF only.

On using minis in D&D - approach of AD&D1 vs. D&D3

And now, the Internet has lost it's Sense of Wonder. (TM) :p

On using minis in D&D - approach of AD&D1 vs. D&D3

I've play 1e and B/X both ways, with and without minis. Personally, I prefer to play the older editions without minis and with group initiative, as it simply speeds the game along. I'm flexible, though - I can count hexes and optimize movement with the best of them as well. As long as I'm...

    Hexes are cool!

Brilliant! I'm a hex guy, because they appeal to my inner grognard.

Evil in D&D: as black and white as it seems?

In some games I have run, you bet. In other games, no. Alignment has hardly mattered. It all comes down to the participants at the table. This stuff needs to be nailed down before char gen.

What's the Best RPG Bargain You've Ever Gotten?

Picked up the Chaosium Thieve's World boxed set for $1 off of ebay. Guy miss-spelled the name in the listing, and nobody else noticed it. Non-RPG best buy: a copy of Mayfair's Cosmic Encounter in near mint condition for $20. These routinely go for $75+ on ebay, and up to $165 when the bidding...

"Eat Your hearts out my fellow gamers" Vol 2

Oh yeah, I know what you mean. I had some guy following me around Half Priced Books in Greenwood, Indiana because I was "HAWGING ALL THE GOOD STUFF!!111!!", and he drove all the way down from West Lafayette to buy books here, and I ruined his day, and now he'd have to go bid on e-bay, and pay...
