Ceramic DM - Spring 2005 (Late Bloomer) - We have a winner.

Who has? I guess the one who posts his final entry a day early and still wins :) But truthfully, I probably wouldn't have had much time to revisit anyway.

You just have to keep in mind that sometimes, breaking the rules can still result in a good story. But I think the checklist could also be helpful for editing a first or second draft.

Ahh, I know what you mean! I didn't really choose the way I wrote the story, though. Much like my second-round entry, I simply had the idea, the story, and the way to write it was never in question for me - it's just the way it had to be. I think one of the dangers and benefits of Ceramic DM is...

Well, there's a difference in how you perceive fiction that you have to read for school and such that you read on your own. for example, I'm not a great fan of Salinger, whereas I read Goethe on my own and... well, hated it, but the point still stands :) I think the fact that I haven't read...

After GenCon is best, I think, and while I don't know mythago's plans, I hope I'll run this show once before your second term in office :)

I might have to use that as my new custom title. :D

ENnies - Ceramic DM Fundraiser -- Now ON SALE!

Whoa, a compilation without one of mythago's stories? That's... unexpected.

    Kiln-Fired Ceramic DM

Yes, this thread seems to be very corpsey. I don't think copyright is a problem unless you're going to sell your story alongside the pictures. So write away and maybe give us a heads-up in General when you're done, so at least I can come visit and read.

Oh, and (three posts in a row), I don't want to forget a very special thank you to all those who commented on my stories outside of jury duty, especially the extremely help- and insightful Hellefire for his lengthy discussion of my first entry. It helped a *lot*.

Not that you think I forgot something... Pfshhh. Who cares for the readers? :D (Yeah, I hope you were entertained, as well, and now I've got Robbie Williams's "Let Me Entertain You" stuck in my head. RW got his revenge, it seems.)

Honestly, I didn't think it'd end this way, so I'm very, very happy :) Thank you to the judges for their hard work, and to BSF for his double hard work, of course. I would also like to thank my agent, Donald L. Basingstoke, esq., and my lawyer, John Witherton-Smith from Downward, Torrance...

Thanks! No problem in putting it off for a few more hours, at least for me. So have a good night's sleep before composing judgements, and RangerWickett gets another handful of hours where he can still hope to win this thing :)

Strange. When my boss is out of town, I roll my work off to others. To each his or her own, I guess :) And whoo-hoo! I'm anxious, happy and a nervous wreck. I'll probably stay up late to see judgements, only to have them posted tomorrow night, but I don't care!

Adventures--Do you run them or cannabalize them?

I run the basic storyline with modifications, i.e. I might change the monsters/antagonists, backstory, motivation, or include a subplot, make a traitor a good guy or vice versa. But it'll be still recognizable as the adventure to those who know it. That's because as a DM, my biggest weakness...

So do you have all the judgements now, or should we sing some more? :)
