Not neccesarily. I use this variant in my game but consider it divine damage instead of positive energy. That way I can get around using turning as a free heal for the PCs.

Good stuff! You could also have variations on the golems abilities based on different dragon types that die for one to spontaneously arise. I.E. white dragon - golem takes double damage from fire based attacks, maybe does an additional d6 cold damage on a slam attack.

It's great, but as a DM I'd worry about the PCs deliberately summoning in a gold mine so they can collect east gold.

I like the spell as is, and I applaud the restriction too :) . I think the spell would have to be researched to an at least 5th level variant (pretty much guessing here :heh: ) to get all your rays in one round.

Dude, you are so lucky... To have only ONE player like that. ;) Actually it's not that bad, one of my players really, really likes to make up new character concepts and then see how they play out, and I think the other just gets bored easily. This puts a lot of treasure in the party coffers...
