Scarred Lands Fan or Curious? Get Hollowfaust free!

Very cool. This is the book that got me into the whole Scarred Lands setting. Now the campaign is 3 & 1/2 years old and still lots of fun.

Age of Worms - Greyhawk or FR better?

Thanks for all the conversion notes, Eric. Honestly, the main reason I went FR was due to the changes to the Ebon Triad and the corresponding FR gods. Years ago, I was a big fan of the Avatar Trilogy, so their inclusion made me very happy.

The Iconics are out in force

Quoted for truth. None of those PHB2 pics will end up as a background for my computer, but Pozas' version of Alhandra did for a while.

Age of Worms - Greyhawk or FR better?

I'm running AoW in Forgotten Realms and it's fitting fine for me. I've never actually run straight Forgotten Realms setting material before (which was a shocker to me), so this is nice. I really like using the established FR pantheon, as I've never warmed to the Greyhawk deities. Also, I'm not...

Age of Worms: Whispering Cairn - iron sphere trap

I think this has been mentioned before on the Age of Worms forums on Paizo.com. You may try searching the threads there for guidance. The encounter is being changed in my campaign (should happen tomorrow night). The spheres are ceramic and I'm placing a different creature below to further a...

What has RP done for your education?

I know that I improved my grades in school so I could get my D&D books back from my parents. =) It was much better motivation than taking away television. Seriously, I do attribute a lot of acquired skills to gaming. I have better vocabulary, problem-solving techniques, and research skills...

    Good Superhero-Game?

I'll chime in with the Blood of Heroes crowd. I ran and played the DC Heroes system it came from for years, and loved its simple elegance. The dice mechanic was a lot of fun with bonuses for rolling doubles (on 2d10), and the comparison chart wasn't a problem once you had played a few times. The...

    Help with Magical Teleport Trap

Thanks, Clueless. I'm still struggling along with ideas. Hopefully I'll have something concrete by Thursday.

    Prince of Nothing questions

Good to see some people have read these and enjoy them. I picked up 'The Darkness That Came Before' yesterday. I looked at his work solely because the title 'Thousandfold Thought' caught my eye. So far, I'm enjoying the start of it all. I also liked the small bit of the author's forward for...

Wormsnacks: An Age of Worms story hour (updated 9/4)

Heh, so they blasted Alastor's spirit at first sight? Yeah, my game has a priest with sun domain, so I'm halfway expecting his greater turning attempt as soon as they get into the room. Good stuff, dungeon blaster.

    Help with Magical Teleport Trap

Hello All. I frequently like to end my campaign sessions with a bit of a cliffhanger to keep the players enthused (and myself as well). This time I ended with a magical trap that's pretty much a teleport redirect, shunting them from their intended location to a less favorable spot. Also when I...

    Dragon #344 Web Enhancement

I'm still holding out for the two most recent Dungeon web enhancements. Of course, it's not like my Age of Worms game will need them for a year or so...

Is There Much Age Difference In Your RPGing Group?

Depends on how big you consider the group (we have a huge community, including larpers). Major tabletop group, ten-year range. Secondary group, seven years. But we have others that play with us occasionally who are twenty or twenty-one, while our eldest is forty.

    So, what's on Cocytus, anyway?

Aeons ago, I wrote up a few different cities for the Planescape community. One of which was a burg in Pandemonium called Anonymous, a place where bashers go to lose their identities and hide. If you want to check it out, the info is here: http://www.ruined.net/halls/anonymous.html Be warned...

    GameMastery Item Packs

At Paizo, they've mentioned that they may try selling individual cards from the expansions once they hit. Their Technical Director Vic Wertz said this (in a response): And there's a good post from Vic in this thread, quoting something from their Art Director...

    Ranger - likes and dislikes?

I agree with the dislike of the spells and animal companion. I'm about to start playing a ranger in Iron Kingdoms using the variant in the IK Character Guide. They also get Favored Terrain, giving them choice of terrain types where they get bonuses to certain skills and reduced movement...

Anyone tried the Iron Kingdoms Ranger variant?

I've got the chance to hop in a friend's current Iron Kingdoms campaign, and I've been looking at the IK ranger variant. I like the lack of spells and animal companion to worry about, and the favored terrain looks cool. But I also note how the bonus feats are on a different schedule than the...

Age of Worms: How many casualities have you xp?

Only two sessions in so far, and we've had none. They've finished the first part of the Cairn, and will soon be hitting Land Farmstead. As long as you're the DM, this thread should give you plenty of info: http://paizo.com/dungeon/messageboards/ageOfWorms/ageOfWormsObituaries

    [Game a Day 14] Recon

I remember this. A friend had it, and I think we toyed around with it once. This was where I learned the joys of Punji sticks. Being teenage boys, we had more fun talking about the gross implications of those than running around shooting the enemy. I'm not much of a modern war buff anyhow, so...
