D&D 4E Rich Baker on his 4e Warlord

Whoever said anything about favored classes? He just mentioned that half-elves multiclassed better. Which could mean anything in the still-unknown 4E gaming paradigm. Sorry, I like the fact that there is a difference between a Fighter 1/Wizard 1 and Wizard 1/Fighter 1. Or else it's Diablo I...

How Many Rares in a case?

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear. The sequential cases only applies to the Huge rares. At least that was the case in Giants of Legend.

How Many Rares in a case?

Each booster pack should have one rare. So just compute how many packs are in a case then you have the number of rares. http://www.blackguard.ca/merric/ is also the best place for D&D Miniatures information. There should be in the site some more complex explanations on how the uncommons, and...

    Dragon #360 and Dungeon #151

There is but it follows the layout (which while aesthetically pleasing, isn't always the most navigable). http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dragon http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dungeon Edit: Merric beat me to it!

Speculation -- PHB races to get mental stats bonuses

I think we're thinking in 3E paradigms. =) 4E supposedly has a bigger impact on your race, so we might get multiple stat bonuses at different levels as you go up in level. Like the dwarf might get +2 Con at 1st, 4th, 8th, 12th, 16th, 20th, etc. level. Or perhaps a race with favored class...

D&D 4E Is liking 4E biased by how many books you own?

I have like 5 dozen 3.xx WotC books and I'm looking forward to 4E. Having said that, I have a friend who is disgruntled at 4E and saying that he's invested a lot of money in the 3E books (although among the gaming group I have the biggest collection).

    D&D 360 Article: Living Around D&D

Where else would they get them? It's not like we have an empirical formula for obtaining the best rules. We just have guesses and playtesting to go on (and designers will only be able to playtest the rules they implement). And guess what, people play D&D differently. Your right answer might be...

The Core Mechanic: New Design and Development

Probably a Jump skill check. =) Every other applicable defense (Reflex or AC) seem static.

    D&D 3.x If 3.5 was so good...

Nothing wrong with playing a core-only game. =) It's just some people prefer to play the game with more options (hence supplements).

    Confirmed: No Warforged in PHB!

Depending on how they treat racial ability progression as you go up in levels, I suspect changelings and shifters will eventually take over doppelgangers and lycanthropes respectively.

    D&D 3.x If 3.5 was so good...

Bear in mind that 3E has had years of supplements giving it "more options". 4E is just coming out fresh.

    D&D 3.x If 3.5 was so good...

House rules are well and good but the existence of house rules just goes to show that a) some rules can be improved or b) some adjustments needs to be made to tailor to specific groups. Not that GMs won't be implementing their own house rules to 4E. I think the point is, while you can...

D&D 4E Are you happy with the coverage of 4e so far?

Yes but there's also a point when you have to admit the faults of the previous edition. As a GM who has abused the monster advancement rules, it's a very possible phenomenon. And at the very least, they're the guys who worked on/designed 3E. If anyone's going to be offended, it's them, and...

    Exemplars of Evil 3.5 lite?

There's a preview up at the site. (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/4ex/20070912a) And it includes a table of contents. Overall, I think it's just like any other accessory. Not as crunchy as say, Complete Warrior, but more crunch than, say, Cityscape. There's some feats and some spells...

D&D 4E Are you happy with the coverage of 4e so far?

Actually I think New Year is too soon (unless you're talking about the Chinese New Year). I expect the SRD will be done by shortly before D&D Experience in Feb. (See http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=206847)

D&D 4E Are you happy with the coverage of 4e so far?

Eight months actually. And those two months mean a big difference. I don't think they can drop anything definitive because the design process isn't complete yet! Of course WotC is trying to hype people for 4E. That's part of the announcement and releasing previews. The same way you know, Paizo...
