I've been playing D&D since the mid-80s and an NPC has always meant any character not controlled by the players (although to be fair in the early days players sometime controlled their NPC henchmen)

Maybe it's just me but even without seeing the published books (which I know is a fundamental mistake but hey this is just speculation) the announcement of Ultimate Magic followed by Ultimate Combat has me twitching. These appear to be the Pathfinder equivalents of the WotC "Complete" series...

We used this class back when we first played 1E. Works well and fits in with most mixed goups of 3-4 classes.

I saw it last year as well - I seem to remember being disappointed that it was only the first part of a longer film - literally the film just stops mid-plot :(
