D&D Adds Two New Books to 2025 Slate, Including New Eberron Book

Ignorance isn’t a good excuse for inaccuracy. Just because you didn’t seek out a proper definition doesn’t mean the term wasn’t being used incorrectly.

D&D 5E (2014) Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

I ran an entire 1-20 campaign in Eberron in 5e and had a great time. Had 0 issues with the system clashing with any tone. Also, the entire point of Eberron, according to Keith Baker himself, is that anything in D&D can fit with some unique surprises. Eberron isn’t Ravenloft where the tone is...

Monsters & More: An In-Depth Review of the 2025 D&D Monster Manual

But the “Tough” monster isn’t replacing Orc. It’s replacing the “Thug” stat block. Orcs have been removed (as have most all PC species) and now just use NPC blocks, like the formerly Thug now Tough block.

Monsters & More: An In-Depth Review of the 2025 D&D Monster Manual

Sure. I have seen plenty of non-glowing reviews that are not also dripping of vitriol from the jump. One of the Monster Manual reviews that dropped today was titled "More is less" and the entire review was well written, informative, and critical without coming off as mean spirited. That is a...

Monsters & More: An In-Depth Review of the 2025 D&D Monster Manual

Or, there can exist some nuance in our critique of products. You can both think WotC is making the game easier for new players (like with easier to run stat blocks) while also believing experienced players can customize the content available. For a new DM, using an NPC block to represent a...

D&D Adds Two New Books to 2025 Slate, Including New Eberron Book

There is an article about the book from some outlet (I think comicbook.com) that mentioned the artwork is of SUBCLASSES, suggesting the unknown guy in a trench coat is a 5th Artificer subclass we have not seen yet.

Monsters & More: An In-Depth Review of the 2025 D&D Monster Manual

I do not know for sure, but I am 100% certain the NPC stat blocks like "Gladiator" and "Fiend Cultist" are generic and do not use the same mechanics as the old Drow stat blocks. It seems like there isn't a conversion table for adding species traits to NPCs, but it is easy to do as a DM, just...

Monsters & More: An In-Depth Review of the 2025 D&D Monster Manual

I cannot confirm or deny this. I do not have the entire book, but the conversion table was shared by D4 in their video they released today so I saw that table.

Monsters & More: An In-Depth Review of the 2025 D&D Monster Manual

Drow became Priest Acolyte, Drow Elite Warrior became Gladiator, Drow Mage is Bandit Deceiver, and Drow Priestess of Lolth is now Fiend Cultist. They, like other Player Species such as Orcs and Duergar, were removed and now just use NPC stat blocks. There is a conversion guide in the appendix...

New Unearthed Arcana Released, With 8 New Forgotten Realms-Themed Subclasses

I like the FR, even really like Cormyr, and I like this new PDK more than what they have been.

New Unearthed Arcana Released, With 8 New Forgotten Realms-Themed Subclasses

The Drakewarden was basically just them patching the Beast Master. Now that that is fixed, they likely see the Drakewarden as treading the same territory.

D&D Adds Two New Books to 2025 Slate, Including New Eberron Book

Given that we still have 4 missing Wizard subclasses from the 2014 PHB, my guess is Bladesinger got in the FR book so they could avoid using space in the Tasha's book for it, instead giving that space to the other missing Wizard subclasses.

D&D Adds Two New Books to 2025 Slate, Including New Eberron Book

Ya probably, unless they think the Tasha's options don't need more testing and only the Xan stuff they plan to port over needs a quick pass through. But I agree Tasha's combo is probably 2026.

New Unearthed Arcana Released, With 8 New Forgotten Realms-Themed Subclasses

The flavor text in the UA suggests these PDK's are special compared to the standard PDK, in that they bond with dragons at birth. Leaves room for the standard PDK being your average Fighter on top of the new options.

D&D Adds Two New Books to 2025 Slate, Including New Eberron Book

IDK which site it was (maybe Comicbook) but one of them said WotC pushed back all MTG crossover plans until after 2025 to focus on the 2024 refresh and 50th anniversary celebration. So I would be shocked if it was.

D&D Adds Two New Books to 2025 Slate, Including New Eberron Book

My guess would either be a Tasha's-Xanathar's Hybrid book or an Adventure book.

D&D Adds Two New Books to 2025 Slate, Including New Eberron Book

I assume this is correct, and that each of the backgrounds are "House X Member" with the associated Dragon Mark Origin Feat. Or they could have a single "Dragon Marked House" background with a generic "Lesser Mark" origin feat, and then have the full marks be level 4 feats that require the...

New Unearthed Arcana Released, With 8 New Forgotten Realms-Themed Subclasses

Personally I love the new PDK. Fighters having a Pet Class is cool, and the Battle Master can already do a battle field commander archetype. So let the PDK have a more unique niche like being a dragon rider.

    D&D 5E (2024) Monster Manual 2025 Undead Video

Don’t get excited for that. It’s likely just internal pages he printed for the video presentation. I doubt they plan to sell a paperback version.

D&D Releases Playtest for Updated Artificer

Literally the first feature of each subclass lets them do this for the item type they specialize in. It’s in there, my guy.
