Pathfinder 1E Hollow's Last Hope: the first adventure in Paizo's new world for free!

Well, as of right now it is not free. I went using the link and was going to get it, then discovered there was a cost of $5.00. If I had some spare cash I would get it, but right now funds are tight.

Free RPG Day is fast approaching, is your FLGS participating?

Sadly, I think my local store was out of stuff before I got there. Oh well, I bought something while I was there anyway. :)

Would you play your game here?

If I am paying to play a game, I better be wearing a badge and be staying at a hotel. I would not pay to play in anything outside of a convention. I currently have a nice home with a large room with an expanding table, a liquior cabinet filled with what I prefer to drink, all my games and game...

Would you buy a hardcopy Tome of Horrors 3.5?

I would not buy it. There is a good reason for not buying it. I own the 3.0 version and I run a 3.0 game. Otherwise, if I ran a 3.5 game I would buy it in an instant.

List of Special Products to be released at Gen Con 2007?

A brand new product is being released/sold at GenCon this year. I was a playtester for Dr. Wizard's Patented Elevation Indicator, and had a lot of fun coming up with uses for it. It's a device to (duh!) show the elevation of your character. I've used it for creatures large and small without a...

    [CMG] Curmudgeon's Corner

Creative Mountain Games has added a new edition of Curmudgeon's Corner. In this long awaited installment, I give my first review. Stop by and hear what a curmudgeon has to say about gleemax.com.

    Gurps? Where do I start?

Then you need to decide on one version or another. Trying to use some of the rules from 3rd and some from 4th is just going to cause confusion, frustration, and a strong dislike for a good game system. It's like trying to use 2nd ed D&D and 3.5 ed D&D. They are the same game, but there's...

    Reading homebrew worlds

If I am going to read someone's personal homebrew setting it has to be: exceptionally compelling; well written; and able to be printed and read offline. I hate reading stuff like that online. Heck, I don't think I would read my own setting online!

    Gleemax = Enworld

Mike, you can count me among those who find the design/art/layout to be horrible. The site did not look at all right when I was viewing it in Internet Explorer at work, but was readable (barely) when I used Firefox at home. The colors are very hard to read, to say the least. I also think the...

Real life beasts that need more attention

Many people, at least in my experience, don't use real world animals because they can't find decent stats on them. Because people don't use them and talk about them, the game companies don't make more. It's a self-realizing situation. I try and incorporate a good amout of contact, violent and...

    DM or GM?

If that were true in my case, then I would be using Ref for everything. I started playing Traveller back in '79, and it still have a great influence on my gaming.

Monte Cook is writing a fantasy novel

I have to see a book, maybe read a few pages, read the cover blurbs, and so on, before I ever think of picking up a novel. I am extremely picky about the fiction I read. I can't think of a single book I have picked up without extensively reviewing it first.

    DM or GM?

I tend to use DM when referring to D&D; GM when referring to GURPS, Living Legends, or DragonQuest; and Ref when referring to Traveller. Personally, I don't care what the players call me, as long as they are doing it with respect and are paying attention when I talk. I voted Both, but I would...

Where did you find cardstock of that weight? If I could track down something like that I would be very happy.

d20 Mecha SRD in PDF form?

How soon do you need it? I have a bit of free time I could see about formatting it. Any preference in paper size?

Now is the season of our discontent?

Mine are quite picky about that because they know they will have to play the disadvantages and won't just get them for nothing. Letchery is not a way of getting free points.

Now is the season of our discontent?

Wow, can't say I have ever seen that happen in all the years I have been playing GURPS. Now, I did see one guy who almost never made a character that didn't have Bloodlust, but he was a bit of a goofball. I've seen more character variety in GURPS then I have ever seen in D&D. That is, of...

    Gurps project: Magic

Rusty, let me once again say that if you are not reading the forums at sjgames.com then you are doing yourself a disservice. The folks there are well versed in GURPS and can possibly help you avoid the "reinventing the wheel" syndrome that most people have when they come to a new game system...

Now is the season of our discontent?

I spent 15 straight years plaing with those one second combat rounds, they work great. Thanks for asking! When my group started playing D&D 3.0 when it first came out, I had to adjust to doing a huge amount of activity each combat round. Even then, you seemed to be doing a great deal of...

    Gurps? Where do I start?

My reason behind that suggestion, which I would give as well, is that with Powers you can do things like create new magic systems, create psionic characters, create superheroes, create races with unusual abilites, and so on. Even though I have not fully groked Powers, I think its more widely...
