And it will strongly suggest the positions used. Anyway, going by some pictures of tiefling girls we had down the ages, that wouldn't be that bad. I know one guy whose characters frequently tried to get into Sigil just so they could find a tiefling brothel. Something to do with what the girls...

Which Adventure Path to go with?

I can only second that. Pathfinder rocks. I haven't played it yet (will start to run it soon), but read the first installment, as well as the player's guide, from cover to cover, and some of the second installment (the book itself is still not here, but I already have the PDFs which you get for...

    James Wyatt + FR!?

Then, apparently, you're not one of those being ignored by Wizards. Good for you.

D&D 4E 4E WotC way of saying your fired?

I think he said that he likes them so far. Since he doesn't know more than we do, he can't say. He does say that it's most likely that Paizo will move to 4e, but it's not set in stone yet, and it's possible that it will be delayed if Wizards takes too much time to give them the rules - they...

Keep your filthy points of light away from me!

But it will no longer be supported. One of the things I liked about will no longer be true for the Realms I play in - lots of information about current events in the setting. And since the changes are so vast, I couldn't even use the 4e books for much even if I wanted to use them, since they...

Keep your filthy points of light away from me!

I know. Tell it to WotC who think they need crumbling empires left and right. It seems they want to make it perfectly clear that the Realms are totally Point of Light. Since we're pointing out: The biggest of those (so far) was the Time of Troubles, something that was hated by a great many...

Keep your filthy points of light away from me!

No, it isn't. I just illustrate that Points of Light is more than some innocent suggestion. They don't just say that it's a nice way to make a campaign, they base the standard campaign setting on that premise, AND change one of their two big campaign settings to better fit that premise.

Keep your filthy points of light away from me!

That's rules changes. I have no problems with those. I have a problem with story changes that explain those rules changes, instead of treating the new rules as a new way to describe what has always been as it is. In 2e D&D, the Simbul was a wizard In 3e D&D, the Simbul was a sorcerer/wizard In...

Keep your filthy points of light away from me!

The problem is that they seem hell-bent on changing the Realms so that it conforms to everything 4e is doing and introducing: The 4e standard cosmology changes, and the Realms' cosmology changes (with its own RBE "explaining" that change) so it's just like the 4e standard cosmology. 4e is...

Keep your filthy points of light away from me!

No. Because in 3e, they didn't feel compelled to change the Forgotten Realms to make it cleave to everything that 3e does.

Keep your filthy points of light away from me!

It's because of the Realms, true, but not only because of them. It's in part due to the Realms because they seem to change several of the things in order to make the Realms more PoL (there's already an official acronym for it, and probably it's own theme song for the news). I know the Realms...

Keep your filthy points of light away from me!

Who else doesn't like that 4e forces the Points of Light campaign philosophy down our throats? It may be nice for some campaigns, but I can't be the only one who thinks that it's not the only way you can set up a world.

How much is a "preview" book worth to you?

No way. Is it a book about 4e's crunch? No. It's about fluff. I like the crunch we know so far, but I'm appalled by fluff, and I couldn't care less about the standard setting (and the New Realms, which seem destined become just like the standard setting with a couple of names changed). So why...

    James Wyatt + FR!?

Maybe, but it seems as if what we're saying doesn't matter to them a bit. What we get is a set of platitudes about how great those big changes are and how the heart of the Realms isn't changed. They don't give us anything to show us that the changes can be good. All the changes we know about...

Reworking of Races, Subraces and Existing Campaign Worlds

That's what I'd do if I'd ever have another 4e game. The advantage is that you won't need any 4e FR books for that - and since they'll be useless for that purpose, that's not so bad (And useless they will be)

D&D 4E 4E WotC way of saying your fired?

That'd be fine by me. But they should give out the rules or stop pretending.

Reworking of Races, Subraces and Existing Campaign Worlds

Haven't you seen the lynchmobs that formed after that disaster? The better solution was what they (mostly) did in 3e: they just "restated" things to fit the new rules. Let me give you an example. In 2e, which didn't have sorcerers, the Simbul was probably a high-level wizard. In 3e, which had...
