Couldn't help myself—updated it one more time, with typical travel times.

Hex Grid Templates at 6-Mile, Kingdom, Province, & Continent Scale (Based on 5e DMG)

Just updated the maps with subtler small hexes (dotted instead of solid lines).

Understood—I was replying to the original poster. :)

    D&D 5E (2014) 5E OB5ERVATIONS - from an Old School Ref

Sounds like you might be interested in some of the variant rule options in the DMG—for instance Slow Natural Healing or the Gritty Realism rest variant on p. 267, and Morale on p. 273.

Hex Grid Templates at 6-Mile, Kingdom, Province, & Continent Scale (Based on 5e DMG)

I have just uploaded Hex Grid Templates at 6-Mile, Kingdom, Province, & Continent Scale (Based on 5e DMG) to the downloads area. These grids for hex maps are prepared based on the recommendations on page 14 of the D&D 5th Edition Dungeon Master's Guide, but they should work for any ruleset...

D&D 5E (2014) 5e Inventory Tracking Sheet (with Simplified Encumbrance)

Interesting. I actually never heard of a group treasure sheet before. Cool idea. I actually don't have a Word file for this—it was created in Adobe Illustrator—but you can do pretty much whatever you like with it.

D&D 5E (2014) 5e Inventory Tracking Sheet (with Simplified Encumbrance)

Good suggestion, and running the numbers, I think this is actually more accurate. Check out the latest version.

D&D 5E (2014) 5e Inventory Tracking Sheet (with Simplified Encumbrance)

I have just uploaded 5e Inventory Tracking Sheet (with Simplified Encumbrance) to the downloads area. This sheet is an attempt to combine the simple encumbrance system of Lamentations of the Flame Princess with the D&D 5th Edition rules. Your feedback is welcome. Credit is due to James Raggi...

    D&D 5E (2014) Any interest in a step-by-step guide to character creation?

Maybe you're thinking of the Basic Rules? (They're almost identical to the Players' Handbook on this topic, though.) The Starter Set uses pre-generated characters, and doesn't cover character creation at all.

Is Chris Perkins Working On A New D&D Setting?

Chris Perkins posted some tantalizing tidbits on Twitter last night… any thoughts on what it all means? He states that Forgotten Realms is not the default D&D setting, that he's working on something slated for 2016, and that there's non-Realms stuff in the works. It sounds like something...

    D&D 5E (2014) Templates for DMG-recommended wilderness hex scale

I'm finding that the only way to make these hexes scale logically on a 8.5" x 11" page is to use a scale of 7.5 hexes per inch. At that size, the province-scale map is 60 miles across (enough to cover one day travel in any direction from the center, as described in the DMG). The kingdom-scale...

    D&D 5E (2014) Templates for DMG-recommended wilderness hex scale

Here's what I've got so far. This is just general-purpose 5-hexes-per-inch paper designed for the recommended scales, without any coordinates or spaces for notes.

    D&D 4E 4e players who converted to 5th edition

Actually, you can handle this with the mob rules on page 250 of the 5e DMG.

This is fantastic. Does this link go to the current version?

    D&D 5E (2014) Templates for DMG-recommended wilderness hex scale

It's also a little peculiar, because the normal travel range for a day is specified as 24 miles. So it seems like you'd ideally want a scale where 1 superhex = 24 miles. (Or 48 miles, to fully represent "an area that can be covered in one day's travel in any direction from the center of the map")

    D&D 5E (2014) Templates for DMG-recommended wilderness hex scale

Update: Looks like you can arrange a 6-mile hex so it's symmetrical with a hex in the center after all.

    D&D 5E (2014) Templates for DMG-recommended wilderness hex scale

I've been reading about wilderness hex crawls (see also this), and I'm inspired to use a hex map for some wilderness exploration. I've never worked with hex maps before. I'm trying to start by following the recommendations on page 14 of the 5th edition DMG: I'm having a little trouble...
