Well how about pretending you don't have it anymore? Hide it somewhere secure (say, on another plane, or something) and say it was stolen (guess this only works if you aren't lawful though, as lying may violate your alignment).

Actually, my favourite isn't really a house rule, but is how ability scores are generated in the Lone Wolf RPG. 1D8+10 for each ability, assign as desired.

I dunno... nearly every group I have played in has generated them as per the rules. In fact, I personally have never seen hit points done any other way, though I do know of those who do average rolls for hit points.

As a last resort, you can always give then what they are after - that way you can survive to fight another day, andm aybe get it back later on when you learn of a weakness.

I agree with Sigil. We are playing, at the moment, a D20 version of Warhammer Quest of our own design. We have only had one session, but man, it was the most fun anyone had had in ages!

$1.26 per litre in Aussie dollars, which works out to $6.71 US per gallon. I read an article this morning that tipped that within tweleve months we will be paying up to $1.60 AUS per litre. At current conversion rates, that would be $8.50 US per gallon.
