If you could create a brand new d20 game...

..using bits and pieces from existing rules, what would you choose? I'm in the process of doing this myself (and adding in some of my own), but was curious to know what you do. For instance, one campaign that I did uses core classes, Diablo II d20 weapons, armour and magic items, core...

Lone Wolf RPG - Any interest?

Not a problem. I plan on starting ASAP; still at least waiting on DuskFox's character, as well as munari's.

CHARISMA: Is it a dud score?

FWIW, my definition of 'dump stat' is putting yourlowest score (no matter what it is) into a stat. If I roll 18, 17, 16, 15, 14 and 13, and put 13 into Cha, then it's still dumping the lowest score into it. Nothing in this thread has yet convinced me that most, though not all, people see...

    My Perfect d20

I started my re-write today. The first thing I did was copy True 20 and get rid of every other die, and use only a d20. I am considering, however, only using other dice for damage rolls, but not sure. The second thing I took a look at was ability scores. Every edition of D&D has the six...

CHARISMA: Is it a dud score?

Agreed, but let's talk in more general terms, leaving class out of it. There are at least two threads in House Rules at the moment that talk about making Charisma more useful, generally, but I really don't think it needs to be made more useful, no matter what class you are playing.

    double post

I've never really used a house rulebook. Every campaign I have ran has at most two pages plus a map for the players. Anything larger and I can count on them not to read it.

CHARISMA: Is it a dud score?

For a long time there has been talk about how Charisma is the 'dump stat', the ability you put your lowest score in. The reason for this is that most people consider it a useless, or at least worst, of the ability scores. What do you think, generally speaking? Is it crap-tastic? Is it...

    DMG II + PHB II + MM II-IV = 4th Edition?

That's a really good analogy. I might use that whenever anybody says 'If they make 4th edition I'm not buying it!' if you don't mind? :D

Yep we do, that would make four. What did you wish to play?

    My Perfect d20

You know, since discovering the True 20 rules, I have been in love. The idea behind the rules is brilliant, and it gives a real 'original D&D' feel to me. The rules are simple and seems to be modelled after old D&D but updated to d20. However (there is always a however), the rules are, to put...

    Stats for Phoenix

I think it's 3.0, but Monster Manual II had phoenix stats in it.

How are you going with that Buccaneer, DuskFox? :)

Mongoose in 2006 (and a bit on the Industry in General)

Yup :) But, if they started negotiations back then, it is possible we could see it this coming year. As Matt said they can't talk about it, if it did happen to be Midkemia, then I wouldn't expect there to be an update on the Midkemia site yet ;) However, I don't think it is Midkemia. I do...

Mongoose in 2006 (and a bit on the Industry in General)

Except... Go to www.midkemia.com and click on what's new on the left hand side and you will see this: What's New December 2004 We are in negotiations for a d20 version of Midkemia, tailored for the specifics of the world that set it apart from ‘normal’ D&D worlds. Assuming this moves...

Does anyone else hate having their photo taken?

I just had to have my photo taken for something. I hate it! I have no idea why I don't like it, but I just can't stand having it done. Does anyone else loathe photos being taken of them? Or am I weird and freaky?

    D&D, only for children

Heh, but maybe without the tragic consequences :) For the record, I was 10 (and the year was 1990) when I began playing, as were most of my friends at the time.
