If you have a shirt that is enchanted to act as armour, isn't that essentially armour? If I was running a game, I wouldn't allow it. Heck, I'm not even a 100% sure where I stand on Bracers of Armour (right now I'd be willing to allow it).

One of the biggest limitations on the Summon Monster spells is their limited range (Close). Consider picking up Enlarge Spell (I think that's the one that extends the range). I also agree that a large language selection really expands your options--or you could just have multiple tongues...

Possible Errata? Dragon #293 has Ogres as +8 ECL.....it's not "official errata", but it might be closer to a correct value. Many of the ECLs in the article seem high, and you might want to go for +6 or +7. I do think that +5 is too low.
