    Monster Manual 3 New Math?

Wizards would make some of us very happy if the compendium would update the math on all the older monsters tho. We just started a Revenge of the Giants game and our DM is having to do it manually heh

    So, What's the Controller's 'Thing'?

We just started a Revenge of the Giants campaign w/all new characters. I ended up creating 5 of the 6 characters people are playing. I had created a Wizard who used an orb to change all damage to psychic and picked up the Psychic Lock feat. This let me switch from playing a Bard (a lot of his...

    4E Muscles, BD&D Bones

I rarely DM, so while I came up w/that version of things several years ago I never have run a game using it, so I defer to your experience. The big issue was that 0 level spells could be cast freely, so I had to say that 0 level 1 pt heal could only be used 3 times on a single person before...

So who's going to Gen Con?

I've seen mentions that family passes are an on-site thing only, but no actual info on how much they will be. We were wanting to do a day trip of GenCon, but $48 each for an afternoon is a bit much. My kids are 3 and 5 1/2 if that helps any :)

Going to church? Don't forget your sawed-off shotgun!

Relique du Madde>It was on the front page when I clicked on it. Someone must have posted and then deleted their post or something. I do enjoy some thread necromancy tho :)

    Should this be fixed

Backstab the crap out of the dwarf. Maybe his next character will listen to reason :)

What are your Favourite Parts of CharGen? Least Favourite?

Ya know, I actually love pretty much everything about making characters. I have notebooks full of them from older editions and these days, w/the CB, I just logon and make some stuff and save the ones I really enjoy. It's pretty rare that I have a specific character idea before I sit down. Oh...

Going to church? Don't forget your sawed-off shotgun!

I live in Kentucky and open carry is legal. Unless the church banned weapons, you could totally wear your gun to church. We also have concealed carry permits, so if he had that he could do it too. I don't see an issue personally, altho even when people saw it was a zombie eating the other...

    4E Muscles, BD&D Bones

Level and class limits in early editions are crap. I was very glad when D&D finally let that die. I do wonder what game you have been playing if there hasn't been strategic play since 1E. Maybe we aren't using the same meaning here, but there was a heckuva lotta strategy and tactics in my 3E...

    Level one...hero or schlub?

1E AD&D. Housecats could deal 1 damage and if you had a crappy Con or a bad roll, you could only have 1HP possibly. I don't know how 1E 1st level Wizards ever left the house at all they were so fragile

Tracking debuffs and conditions w/poker chips

Well I did print a copy of page 277 for everyone and I was going to be highlighting the combat advantage options for the rogue. I can also color code the form so everyone can see what colors are tied to which at a glance as well. We tried stacking up chips on the mat in the other game, but we...

Tracking debuffs and conditions w/poker chips

I was reading this thread http://www.enworld.org/forum/4e-discussion/304138-condition-cards-i-made-some.html#post5574038 and made a quick mention of how my group was working condition tracking, but decided to put my fully expanded version up here for anyone who was interested. My Dark Sun group...

Dumping 80% of my gaming collection

Sad to see the AE stuff sold off. A)I'm a big fan of the system and b)I'm broke and can't pick up spare copies heh.

    Level one...hero or schlub?

That's still more background than one of my friends had when we started our first real 2E group. We got around to Brian and told him to tell us about himself. His response was "I'm a 6 foot elf!". We still make fun of him for that one :) As far as the topic, being afraid of housecats at L1...

    Desert world campaign.

The new version of Tomb of Horrors all takes place in the Feywild and Shadowfell. Sounds like a great opportunity to sweep people into the Feywild in Paragon. We took a Feywild portal from Dark Sun and did part of the Tombs at L11. It was pretty fun

    Heroes of Unlikely Places (Hopefully?)

You have your decades backwards man. Birthright wasn't out until 1995. DragonLance had its first novel out in 1984 and the 1E hardback DragonLance Adventures was in 1987. The Time of the Dragon box set that detailed Taladas was 1990.

    Are Superior Weapons "worth it"?

I enjoy the CharOp forums as I've always liked making characters and I had a bad experience when I started in a Dark Sun game recently. I made an Assault Swordmage. I thought he was ok when I built him, but I had the worst rolling. Even when I did connect, things weren't really meshing well...

    Why the renaming of classes?

Says you. My DM is running the ever popular "Bringing gods back to Athas" campaign. Heck, my group has a Cleric AND a Paladin plus a Monk who MCed Cleric all worshiping Pelor. We have Team Pelor and Team Heretic heh. Conveniently, we sit around the table perfectly divided. Here is the...

    Cleric (Templar) is Up

Burst 2/3/4 and 1/2/3d10 damage would have been fine and cutting the power exactly in half. One of my friends was thinking about making a Cleric for an upcoming game. I may point her over toward Warlord now. Turn Undead at epic level was a 17x17 effect that with just 2 feats could damage...

    Desert world campaign.

In Rolemaster, one of the critical fumble results from spell casting was that a large area around you (I think 50' radius) was turned to glass. You could decide that the Glass Lands are a result of magical destruction. Maybe an ancient civilization was there and their enemies used power that...
