I'll be looking for the background that allows for advantage when rolling for ability scores. 5d6 drop lowest two, that sounds good to me. :D

It's quick and fun for now, but I think this one will need a lot of play testing at many kinds of levels. I suspect I'll see an advantage/ disadvantage chart at some point, because I just don't think the "that kobold's one disadvantage cancels out my five advantages???" is going to fly very well.

I have to wonder what percentage of the super majority voting that casters are too powerful either... 1. don't care 2. accept the situation and tolerate it or 3. feel the casters SHOULD be more powerful at high levels (my answer)

I call that class the Rogue. :p

Tithed Enough Already!

It seemed like a good idea to have the OSR, 3E/ Pathfinder and 4E players sharing the same table. WOTC probably needs it to happen. 5E faces a very strong headwind of players that look at their current game(s) of choice and say, "I'm good." Some of these public playtests could get chippy, RPGers...

I can't live in a world without permanent magic mouth spells.

If it's not Lawful Good it's not a Paladin. The closer WOTC gets the Paladin (and the Ranger for that matter) back to its 1E version, the happier I'll be.

WOTC should just contact each DM on what restrictions they'd like in their game, and print the rulebooks to order. :lol:

Yep, I want the 1e Paladin that has the tough alignment restrictions, gear, gold and magic item restrictions and high ability qualifications. If the resulting Paladin awesomeness overshadows the boring run of the mill fighter, so be it. And if my LG aura isn't causing the players of edgy morally...

I have found that the casters do overshadow the muggle classes at the highest levels. Since I mostly play casters, this has never struck me as a problem. :p

I will only be purchasing the physical books. I will not pay for ebooks, PDFs, DDI, or apps.

Hopefully WOTC decides to print something beyond the initial releases. I fear they'll just put everything in the DDI to cut costs.

For me, the answer is to get rid of these boring classes I never play that don't cast spells.:lol: How about we just keep the casters where they're at and the muggle classes can step their games up. Perhaps the question for the non casters should be, "Do you want a realistic class that can't...

I'd prefer my 5e paladin have access to spells in addition to his granted powers. If WOTC wants me to play a 5e ranger, he better be getting back his spell abilities too.

Yes The +5 Holy Avenger with a boatload of goodies for Paladins should exist too

1. wizard 2. paladin 3. cleric I stay with the same classes, stay far away from the fighters and rogues and never multiclass

Not one drop of ink wasted in the core rulebooks. If WOTC never gets around to creating the 5E psionic supllements I won't be shedding a tear.
