    FR Preview-Sword Mage and Genasi

My only real concern about the swordmage is that a swordmage with aegis of shielding is strongly encouraged to mark his opponent and run away to fight a different opponent, much like the paladin was before he was fixed. Given that the aegis tends to completely neutralize the enemies attacks...

    When [W]eapon keyword exploits don't use a [W]?

By the RAW there seems to be no question that you add your bonuses, and even by the RAI it seems unlikely that the designers intended for these powers to become increasingly useless as you level due to their low chance of hitting. It is true that All Bets are Off has a +2 on the secondary...

FR Preview - Akanul & Impiltur

Even taking Impiutr, I'd be reulctant to completely tank con as a cleric. Not only is it used for healing surges, but also for armor feats. Depending on your class, some of the skill regions can be quite good, not for the +2 but for the extra class skill. A 14 wisdom fighter for example might...

    Dwarven Axe-thrower... how?

Hmm....well strength is used for armor and a lot of other things. But even if we assume dex is superior (and I'd say it's not so superior to warrant being denied a whole range of powers) would you let a strength based cleric or paladin use strength for all the radiant attacks? Or a charisma...

    Dwarven Axe-thrower... how?

I think there's no question that a TWF ranger is quite a bit more powerful if you let him use strength for ranged powers. He won't be as strong at range as a bow ranger.....but he won't be a whole lot weaker either. And he will be MUCH stronger up close then a bow ranger. Keep in mind as well...

Dual nature of all classes - except Ranger and Rogue.

Hmm.....does the wizard really double as a striker? He doesn't seem like he does any more damage then any class without that designation. Unless your counting hits to multiple targets, but that seems more of a controller thing.

    FR Preview-Sword Mage and Genasi

I believe that's how some people were running it in DDXP, but it's not true. Minions can't be killed by misses, but any other form of damage kills them.

    FR Preview-Sword Mage and Genasi

Not sure if people have seen this yet, but you can find a preview of the FR material (specifically intended for the LFR campaign) at the bottom of the following link http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=rpga/news/lfrcharacters It has a fair amount of crunch in there, including new races and...

    Bracers of Mighty Striking

Hmm...I thought about taking shield push for my fighter. The potential problem I see with it is that it only really works if the person they attack is not flanking with me. But could still be really good. Distracting shield is interesting too and better against artilery that tries to get away...

    Bracers of Mighty Striking

These are amazing for a fighter, at least at low level. They do compete with the magic shield slot, but I think they win out at heroic level. At paragon level there are better magic shields, and using the bracers might be a harder choice.

    Class Analysis: Cleric

It's also potentially quite strong to be able to cherry pick between the best powers of both sides.Righteous brand+sacred flame isn't bad at all(though of course lack of charisma makes sacred flame worse).

Minions with 1hp - Can anyone justify this?

While I mostly agree with you, it's worth noting that at least according to the minion design article, it is reasonable for monsters to change between minions and non minions as the party levels. For example when you fight the ogre tribe of the broken skull at level 8, they are regular 8th level...

Minions with 1hp - Can anyone justify this?

Ah yes.....you claimed that wizard ac was 8 points less then any defender, called everyone stupid who disagreed and then backed down when math was shown and you were challenged to defend your point. I'm sure that wasn't a concession. Never mind that nobody claimed that wizards had the same ac...

Minions with 1hp - Can anyone justify this?

Hmm....lich vestiges do get a huge damage boost against wizards. Even then they don't kill him and only knock him out, and only if the wizard somehow hit lvl 26 without taking toughness, and only if all 8 hit, which assuming they hit on a 9 (which I calculate as most likely) has about a 1 in 100...

    Warrior of the Wild Question

It's worth noting that it lasts til the end of your next turn. So you essentially get 2 uses out of it (if you hit both turns). On average it probably gives about as much damage as say weapon focus (unless it's a long fight) which is pretty good for a feat that also gives you a skill.

Minions with 1hp - Can anyone justify this?

The thread where where you claim over and over how stupid I am for thinking wizards could have a decent armor class, and then ran away with your tail between your legs when challenged to support your belief, and given actual math by me and other posters. In this case your seem to theorize that...

[W] - What exactly is in it?

Rain of steel has the weapon keyword, so I believe that is correct.

Minions with 1hp - Can anyone justify this?

Good things wizards aren't quite that easy to kill then, as you've conceded to in the other thread.

[W] - What exactly is in it?

Check page 276 in the PHB. It makes it clear that you roll all of the dice and then add the damage once.

[W] - What exactly is in it?

My understanding is that any attack that has the weapon keyword benefits from all your weapon bonuses. There include enchancement bonuses on the weapon, and feat bonuses or other abilities that apply to the use of the weapon. There are also powers which just give you a +x power bonus to damage...
