D&D 5E (2014) Best Adventurer's League single classed gish that is a full spellcaster

I understand he won't be as good as a dedicated warrior, I'm trying to get opinions on what full spellcaster makes the best warrior.

D&D 5E (2014) Best Adventurer's League single classed gish that is a full spellcaster

Two of the four suggested characters get extra attack, and a third uses the SCAG cantrips booming blade and green flame blade (which, IMHO, helps mitigate the need for extra attack).

D&D 5E (2014) Best Adventurer's League single classed gish that is a full spellcaster

Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out what my best option is on this mechanical character idea. I'd like to build a gish type that is a single classed character, who will eventually gain 9th level spells, that is AL legal. Here are my ideas so far: 1) high elf wizard bladesinger 8/17/15/16/8/8...

    D&D 5E (2014) Optimizing a BladeSinger

I really like this idea as well. I have one issue though: with a starting 10 wisdom score, and foregoing the wisdom save in favor of the constitution save, you're likely to fail many wisdom saving throws, which really is a killer. If you just go wizard (bladesinger) mono-class, with...

I want to build a really effective gish. Please help!

It's definitely a possibility, but I'm also really liking pal 2/sorcerer.

I read that sorcerer and warlock multiclass really well together.

I remember some of the guys theory crafting at a gaming store, saying you get the sorcerer high level ability with using your warlock spell slots (that return on a short rest) to turn into sorcery points. A) is this true? B) please explain how it's done C) is it cheesey, cool, or both?

I want to build a really effective gish. Please help!

That's really why I want both classes online at level 3 (or sooner).

I want to build a really effective gish. Please help!

I see. You're saying as a level 2 character, you're weaker compared to other single classed level 2 characters. I didn't understand at first. TY.

I want to build a really effective gish. Please help!

This is a minor dilemma of mine. If I go Paladin 2/Sorcerer X, I don't get war caster until level 6. Should I just use a greatsword until then?

I want to build a really effective gish. Please help!

You make some great points. I'm at the point where I'm fine with not getting any extra attacks, because I think booming blade and green flame blade are that good. I definitely want both of them. I want a decent-> good AC, as well as at least 7 HP per level (average), so that wading into...

I want to build a really effective gish. Please help!

I am playing in Adventurers League, starting at level 1. I want a character that's "online" by level 3, and I want to have some arcane spell casting as well as the ability to fight in melee. I've read tons of fun looking builds, but I wanted to get some fresh opinions. Here's what I've...

    D&D 5E (2014) Best Gish

I'm a big fan of the paladin 2/sorcerer X. Quicken/Twin your green flame blades and booming blades to great effect!

D&D 5E (2014) Any good eldritch knight guides?

Could you please explain these alternate builds you're speaking of?

D&D 5E (2014) Any good eldritch knight guides?

I'm looking to build a good gish character, and I'm considering an eldritch knight. I need to know, in a point buy setting, if it's worth boosting INT. I'm really only interested in some spells like shield and misty step. I'm also wondering if the spells like booming blade and green flame...

Getting back into Magic: The Gathering after a loooong hiatus

Is there a place that sells these deck builder tool kits the cheapest? I'm just browsing at Target (Star Wars blu ray - yay!) and a Magic Origins deck builders toolkit is $41.99. Is that decent? They also have Fate Reforged, Magic Origins, Oath of the Gatewatch, and Khans of Tarkir intro...
