You know...if I had known that GenCon LLC was going to have this much trouble with the website again, I would have offered my servers here at work....we handle the daily production data for several large telecom companies.

You know what is better than that? The traffic that the site is contending with is only the select few who: 1. Are trying to register on the VERY first day 2. Have a job at which they can surf the internet and get away with it Wait until the "after work" hours or the "after school"...

If you makes you feel any better, it doesn't matter at this point whether you are on a dial-up or not. I'm on a T1, and I can't get the pages to respond. The bottleneck is at the GenCon LLC servers.

This is going to be the best! Not only are we bogging down the GenCon server, but we can bog down the Enworld servers with our complaints while we wait for the stupid GenCon pages to load! :D

I don't think that you guys need to worry TOO much. The slow down is across the whole site, so those who did get in are probably even more frustrated because they can't continue the process of registering for events. As for outsourcing, I'm curious what they outsourced. The code may be great...
