NC Game Day (Dates posted for NCGDVI-VII on top of page 16)

hmm...well if there's one thing I learned from last session it is: if you shoot someone that does crazy magic stuff in the head rather than in the foot, it will solve things with a lot less casulties, even if they are 8 year old boys. So I guess it's time to bust out the Desert Eagles and frag...

NC Game Day (Dates posted for NCGDVI-VII on top of page 16)

I'm here! I'm here! Holy crap! Four pages already? How do I miss these things? Gameday 3 was a blast, both the mind controlling bugs, and the tight spot. At least I got here fast enough that no one has signed up for rel's game. Those always look like a blast, but I never got here early...

    Let's ban Teleport!

Once your heroes get high enough that they can destroy moderate size towns, I think they deserve (if they decide to use one of the valuable spell slots on it) to teleport places. Sure it can get annoying when they just teleport to replenish items, but there can always be battles and adventure...

    Base Class - Arcane Warrior

looks very cool, but I've just skimmed it and haven't really looked it over for "balance" issues, so I couldn't comment on those, but it does look very cool.

Do you homebrew your own worlds?

I usually create my own worlds...kind of. I think of basic climates, regions, and such, and my friend who is much better at making maps than me (name on the boards: Jeph) draws them out and shows them to me for editting. Then there are just a bunch of random cities, and they only really...

Fixing negative HP at high levels: feedback?

awsome idea, I think I'll yoink it. Especially the not telling them how far under they are, that makes it a heck of a lot harder to metagame.

How would you handle throwing creatures?

Casts a whole new light on "trusting someone only as far as you can throw them" eh? Sorry, I couldn't resist :D

    Is the spellbinder unbalanced?

Cmon guys, any comments at all? Is it fine the way it is? Is it unbalanced but you have no idea what to do to it? Are you not sure whether it's balanced or not? Some coments, please.

    Darkness

What's wrong with a shadowy illumination? I know it sounds oxymoronic, but it doesn't really matter, does it?

    Mechanic to Encourage Training

I think the entire point of the 20%(!) penalty to XP is that it makes you really really really really really really not want to do that. I think they're pretty much saying "you can't multiclass this way," but because it is certainly possible to do that they left it in the rules. I think the...

    Is the spellbinder unbalanced?

The spellbinder is a PrC from Path of Magic (3.0). It specializes in enchantments. I always thought it was pretty balanced, but then realized that some things could really override the abilities of other party members. Anyways, here it is: prereqs: Skills: knowledge(arcana) 8 ranks, perform...

    "Sense Evil"

I've started using as a house rule in my campaign that instead of getting detect evil at will, the paladin can just "sense evil." That is, he gets exactly what the first detection of evil is, but he can't concentrate on it to determine the number or power level or whatever. I think this gives...

Anyone know of a sonic PRC?

If anyone knows of a sonic magic PRC, I'd really like to see it. I might make one myself and post it sometime later.

    Sorcerer PRCs

I've been looking for a good sorcerer prc lately, and I can't really find one. I like my PRCs to have some interesting abilities that you can use (so not the elemental savant with + to dc, and elemental resistance, immunity to sleep and stuff), and I like them to, usually anyway, not cause the...

North Carolina Game Day IV: May 8

Great gameday. I'm glad to hear we got out of the tightest spot (by the way: did my horse ever show up? A third of my feats need to be used from on top of that guy). I hope everyone had as much fun as I did. And I have to put Rel's quote in my sig, just because it became very evident in both...

North Carolina Game Day IV: May 8

l33t?!?!?!?!?? You're so old school Henry, it's no longer l33t, it's now gosu (apparently anyways). Gosu skills is what I will bring.

North Carolina Game Day IV: May 8

Gameday is finally here! Well...tommorow, but still. See you guys there. Just to make sure: for henry's game all I need is my dice, my character, a pencil, and my awsome skills:cool:? and for old one's game all I need is 2 copies of the character, dice, pencil, and skills?

    Template help

I agree with nifft it's an interesting concept, but if I can't keep my attention span on it for the whole way through, it's not a nice template to just put onto stuff.

Good Intentions: A Tale of Powerful Heroes in a Rapidly Changing World (D&D 3.0)

This is my first time posting a story hour so here goes. Good Intentions The characters start at level 6 (halfway to level 7). Before the campaign started the characters had joined up together to stop an evil gnoll barbarian chief. After this they took a long needed leave in the city of...

Issues with Summon Monster/Summon Nature's Ally (2004 Thread)

I didn't feel like reading the last two pages of this thread, but I figure I'll add my 2 cents in anyways  You said that the druid summoned 2 dire badgers, a dire wolf, a lion, and maybe some other creatures in that battle...how many spells does that leave the druid for any other...
