    TPK - Therapy session.

Yes we did now I can go back to being called out on my cowardliness as a player. *Sigh* And the point is that we did the opposite of meta-gaming. We played our characters as intended. If we would have meta-gamed we would have never entered the castle and went farming enemies till we were at...

    TPK - Therapy session.

Then I stand corrected. :D Nothing beyond, some side quests where we got introduced to the mephit and its Icy Skeletons and a hunter's ghost who complained about the mephit and its master killing its pray. That and some mention of some fire cult a some days travel away (probable allies for...

    TPK - Therapy session.

Yea, just like the title states, therapy... talking about the situation, cause most of my friends who I usually talk to about such geek/nerd stuff are abroad, and talking with the PCs would feel like we are talking behind the DMs back as a group. Ok, so your saying is that its the players...

    TPK - Therapy session.

I myself don't like recieving compliments, maybe I do but I just don't know it, I don't know if you like em or not but: Best post I have ever read....EVER. I mean its so well worded, and so neutral and so helpful to the situation... just beautiful. :) We are not prone to talking about...stuff...

    TPK - Therapy session.

IMO the DM had and idea and he didn't want to back-down. Hints are nice, but depends if you give them in-game or directly to the players. No, I did not mean he wanted to start one, I mean that since I mentioned it (cause I'm very bias against 4e), that we don't change the subject to Editions...

    TPK - Therapy session.

Read the post above...consistency. Now as per RAW (which we dont fully abide by, cause its broken most of the time, and the DMG is a guideline for the DM), if I empty a flash of holy water the flask becomes emptier, a level 1 NPC without local will never know what race he is or could ever...

    TPK - Therapy session.

Yea but that is consistancy in story-telling and DM-ing. Once the DM starts to add impossible/very-difficult encounters to the game on a regular basis, the kind the the players are not meant to fight, then yea its alright, cause you can plan for that. In this case its was...

    TPK - Therapy session.

We never confirmed it verbally, but it was a story-arc campaign. (Unnatural winter, ice skeleton groups lead by the wizards familiar. Ice castle on top of a larger rocky hill. FS was asked to look into the occurrences.) PS: We were lead to the castle via "plot-ghost".

    TPK - Therapy session.

A warning is consistent DM-ing. That and it was one of those situations where we got the drop on the enemy, even tho they noticed us. Buffed up and ready to go, we were assuming a high level wizard, hence no retreating on the 11d6+ warning shot, and a Large Wasp has a nice grapple check to...

    TPK - Therapy session.

No-one is at fault. It was the DM's choice, we did not argue...I called BS tho. For example, no DM will throw a level 7 group of enemies at a 1st level party, just because the DM had sudden change of DM-ing style. Its like playing The Elder Scroll (choose a number) where the enemies scale...

    TPK - Therapy session.

Yea I'm confused by it too. We expected a high level caster because: We killed a Mephit leading Ice Skeleton groups, killing everything in sight. When we killed it the DM rolled for the fort save vs not losing as much XP. That and it was an "unusually cold winter" that and we encountered a...

    TPK - Therapy session.

Yea I think the DM wanted us to check on the enemy, then try to gather an army, and wage war, that is my assumption. Yea we were no expecting 6 levels higher enemies, but we were prepared for a big fight, we were buffed to the brim. Ranger had 3 buffs, Cleric had 5, FS 6+. I forgot to add to...

    TPK - Therapy session.

Hey guys. This will be a...Me writing down the situation, cause I can't really talk about this with anyone beyond my D&D group, maybe my brother, but that is my brother... It won't be long I promise. :D So, we are a group of 3, ECL 5: - Cleric 5 (war & strength) - Half-orc - CN - Favored...

(advice) How many kobolds does it take to tpk a 3rd level party?

Well alright then then starting from DC 14, we house ruled the fail on a nat 1, forgot it was not per RAW. Craft is an INT skill, I just mentioned the wis cause they have 9 but they don't get a -2 as per character creation.

    D&D 3.x 3.0 / 3.5 combining the half celestial template w/ the Saint template

I really don't wish to insult anyone with what I am about to say. I'm out of this thread, I cannot follow your DMs logic at this point, hes placing fluff way ahead of crunch. Meaning that just about anything we say is null and void, since the DM is house ruling just about everything. Good luck...

    D&D 3.x 3.0 / 3.5 combining the half celestial template w/ the Saint template

Whats your base race? And what level are you? What class? What alignment? Paladin is a good choice. But again, I'm gonna be the rule Nazi and quote: "Prerequisite of Magic in the Blood Dwarf (Oldonnar or Underdark [Darklands]), elf...

(advice) How many kobolds does it take to tpk a 3rd level party?

Em, well its 4 ranks + 2 Racial + 3 Skill focus = 9 in total. - a probable +2 from being assisted, and a probable Masterwork Tools +2, that making it a total of 13 at level one. On another note, that should be a 10 wis since Kobolds don't get a -2 to wis...but what ever. So kobolds should be...

(advice) How many kobolds does it take to tpk a 3rd level party?

One kobold, and large a investment in Craft (Traps) skill. :D And an access to this book: that was removed by a Moderator because EN World does not support copyright infringement. Please don't link to sites that give access to blatantly infringing materials. And I'm not even kidding. No self...

    D&D 3.x 3.0 / 3.5 combining the half celestial template w/ the Saint template

Sorry, it was late I just wanted to leave a fast comment, and explain the rest later. Links: -------------------------- - Half-Celestial - Saint -------------------------- So here I go: "“Half-celestial” is an inherited template that can be added to any living, corporeal creature with an...

    D&D 3.x 3.0 / 3.5 combining the half celestial template w/ the Saint template

Well, legally you can't add up the 2 templates. Otherwise if the DM allows it, just add up all the "numbers", but don't forget to meet the requirement for the Saint.
