Pathfinder 1E So what do you think is wrong with Pathfinder? Post your problems and we will fix it.

Yes, yes, everything is at the DM's discretion, and banning UP/OP options is an effective (if harsh) way to keep the game somewhat sane. We're all aware of this. I just wanted to know that the PF team didn't waste page space on those archetypes in explicitly player-oriented books.

Pathfinder 1E So what do you think is wrong with Pathfinder? Post your problems and we will fix it.

...Holy cow...such bizarre specificity...there are no words. Someone please tell me that these options were at least published in a DM's splatbook? Please?

Pathfinder 1E So what do you think is wrong with Pathfinder? Post your problems and we will fix it.

DMs are explicitly advised to do just the opposite -- run periodic 'wealth audits' to keep each PC more-or-less at WBL. ...Unless PF changed that particular guideline?

...You know that before the advent of refrigeration, salt was used as a preservative as well as a flavor-enhancer, right? I mean, salt was a lot rarer before the industrial world started manufacturing it, so it might still fall under your 'difficult to find' category, but...well, just wondering...

Pathfinder 1E So what do you think is wrong with Pathfinder? Post your problems and we will fix it.

Myself, I don't really understand the general problem with option 'bloat.' Every time I read 'bloat,' regardless of context, all I can think is "...shouldn't have eaten that much Indian before running a marathon!" I know many DMs have their pet campaign settings with special thematics, but to...

Pathfinder 1E So what do you think is wrong with Pathfinder? Post your problems and we will fix it.

Yeah, the sense I got from the recent PF 2e thread that I started on the Paizo forum (whoops, my bad!) is that most PF fans have some issues with it. There are one or two fans at both extremes -- one guy claimed he would boycott Paizo FOREVAAAR! if they ever published a 2e -- but most realize...

    What is a Spell List?

Fluff-wise, what do you think a spell list is? 1. Spells that your particular PC is familiar with, thanks to his or her particular mentor. 2. The spells that are frequently used by members of your PC's class. 3. A representative selection of spells that members of your PC's class are able to...

    Gamer Survey - please respond

Question 12 doesn't have an Other option, so here's my response: I prefer elegant rules, whether they're the RAW or house rules. For example, I accumulated a truly massive quantity of house rules during my D&D 3.x days because of how many things don't work the way I want them to. But I'm happy...

Pathfinder 1E So what do you think is wrong with Pathfinder? Post your problems and we will fix it.

Same here. I think that PF is probably an overall improvement over 3.5, but it's an incremental improvement. During my 3.5 days, I came up with quite a few house rules to address the things I have issue with -- and PF's changes address maybe 5% of those things. If 4e hadn't addressed 95% of my...

Pathfinder 1E So what do you think is wrong with Pathfinder? Post your problems and we will fix it.

LFQW. Alignment restrictions and other legacy quirks. Pretending to be a world-sim, but achieving no more believability than any other D&D edition/clone. The thing that makes PF so problematic for some gamers is the same thing that makes it so popular with others: It's a clone of 3.5e, with the...

D&D 5E (2014) From what you've seen so far, do you think D&D Next will be a success or a failure?

Well, great minds, and all that. ;) It's almost as if you expect history to repeat itself. ;) If you insist.

D&D 5E (2014) From what you've seen so far, do you think D&D Next will be a success or a failure?

It's going to be a success and a 'failure' in the same way that every other edition is. It'll have its fans, it'll have its detractors, the core books will sell like hot cakes, and then sales will slide until WotC decides it's time for 6e in about five years. Me, I couldn't care less. What I...

Why Do Batman Fans Hate Christopher Nolan?

The solution is obvious then: Bruce should have just bought a pair of glasses after pulling the big fake. Hey, if it works for one caped superhero...;)

Why Do Batman Fans Hate Christopher Nolan?

As it happens, Bane and his voice helped me memorize a formula I needed for a test today because I like them so much! You have merely adopted the shadow; I was born in it. I did not see the light of day until I was a man. So, so creepy! Just goes to show that there's no accounting for taste.

Why Do Batman Fans Hate Christopher Nolan?

I have to say, I really liked the first Star Trek reboot -- time travel handwavium aside -- and fully intent to see the second one at some point. The other Trek movies are varying degrees of entertaining, and there are bits and pieces of the various series that I enjoyed -- the overarching plot...

Why Do Batman Fans Hate Christopher Nolan?

Speaking of Lost, a friend and I have a running joke that Sayid is Batman. He's an emotionally tortured tech guy badass! We consider this a feature of Lost, rather than a flaw.

That's interesting, what don't you like about Bane? Ooh, I didn't even know he's been involved in other shows! Any recommendations?

QFT. If anyone ever needs proof that the original isn't automatically better than the remake, New BSG is it. Ten years after it aired, I'm still regularly listening to its soundtrack, and every time I see it on my netflix queue I get a little closer to rewatching it. For the second time!

Why Do Batman Fans Hate Christopher Nolan?

So your response to Umbran's comment is that since we don't know the true story of the real King Arthur, none of the King Arthur stories are acceptable. And, by inference, only the very first author's interpretation of Batman is acceptable. I'm just going to say that while I can see how the...

Why Do Batman Fans Hate Christopher Nolan?

Wait, are you saying that the only 'true' King Arthur story is the historical account of the real man that the King Arthur myths came from? I.e., the one we don't even know the name of? Or are you referring to the very first known King Arthur myth, which may or may not be the first actual myth...
