I think wizard is the only one still technically in playtest because there's been a debate about how to treat zone effects.

Being it a Friday before the holidays, work has been very slow today so I went ahead and created my own hordeling; I call it the Burrowing Horror Hordeling: It prefers to live underground, particulary in swampy or marshy regions, and it can burrow through the earth faster than a human can walk...

Great article with lots of details and flavor...Glasya is appropriate nasty (especially that power that knocks you unconscious and forces you to make death saving throws). It also makes a nice primer on the Reckoning.

I went with average damage whenever possible since I couldn't predict variation, plus the artillery hordeling doesn't have any ways of evading or fighting off a melee attacker like most creatures with that role do. Its still disadvantaged by its low hit points, so it definitely doesn't want to...

It's my hope that no one will ever roll up the same hordeling (I didn't do the math, but I'm pretty sure that's a ridiculously remote chance), but that all of them will be equally viable. And that's one unique artillery monster!

The ones in the BoVD are a Level 11 Brute (but that's a swarm) and a Level 11 Minion. These are Level 13 monsters.

That sounds awesome! Those kind of results are why I wanted to write this article. They can speak Abyssal and have a chance of speaking another.

I read the Ur Draxa article this morning before work. It is pure awesome. The Infernal Prince theme is nifty too; haven't had a chance to read the adventure yet.

Statistically, they are (however they do have some cool mechanics) but they all look different from each other. Here is the artwork from the BoVD for the hordelings.

They are. In the 4e BoVD, hordelings are swarms of tiny, random demons. The greater hordelings in my article are of course based on the classic version, but they are grown up verisons of the ones in the BoVD.

I hope that anyone who rolls some hordelings up will share their creations here.
