D&D 5E (2014) Yes, I know what RAW says, but, Effects of allowing Sneak Attack on Monk attacks.

I never understood the separate classification of unarmed attacks. It always just creates confusion. It's a fantasy game. Who cares if throwing a punch and swinging a halberd are simply both called "melee attacks?"

    D&D 5E (2014) Stalker0's Alternate Concentration v2.0

You put a lot of work into this but it's far too complicated for tabletop play. Might be good for a video game where the tracking is done for you.

D&D 5E (2014) Ideas for modules to lead into Red Hand of Doom 5E (excluding HotDQ & Sunless Citadel)

I had designs of a similar campaign using the Tier 1 AL season 5 adventure chain as a lead-in (he Black Road, etc). Leads up to a hill giant raising an army and attacking a town. Some parts can be skipped but generally considered one of the better AL adventure chains.

D&D General The Best Parts of Pre Written Adventurers Are What You Leave Behind

Like Ned in Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh, who is bound and gagged to "dupe" the PCs into doing something or other. It's all very confusing. Get that nonsense outta here.

D&D 5E (2014) You Can Now Get Minis For The D&D Combat Wheelchair

I bet you’re a lot of fun at parties.

request: Give "Level Up" its own forum

Currently half of the top 20 threads in the D&D forum have the "Level Up" tag, and it has its own forum with the same threads. 🤷‍♂️

    D&D 5E (2014) Bad Wrong Fun

I'm in agreement with everything that's been posted in this thread. To add PvP, stealing from the party, etc. aren't necessarily badwrongfun themselves per se, it's when a conflict arises between the players because of differences in how they want to play and experience the game. But...

    D&D 5E (2014) Break my concentration redesign!

Agreed on both. There are some borderline cases. That said, both of your examples can occur with the existing concentration rules with two casters. The question is whether it's "broken" for a single caster to be able to pull it off, which would require multiple actions, multiple spell slots...

    D&D 5E (2014) Break my concentration redesign!

It's an interesting mechanic but my designer gut instinct says there's still potential for balance issues since most of the stackable buffs are low-level. For example, bless without concentration as a level 2 spell is a no-brainer. It's why I went with a simple classification of spells. I white...

The threads also show up in the Dungeons & Dragons forum, so technically it has two forums.

request: Give "Level Up" its own forum

Given the amount of discussions in the past few days, they would be better organized into their own forum. Thanks.

    D&D 5E (2014) Break my concentration redesign!

I certainly don't think this is simpler. I'm actually having a little trouble fully understanding. Lots of exceptions and if-thens. Putting more stress on the bonus action economy is certainly not something I would do either.

    D&D 5E (2014) Break my concentration redesign!

I am specifically avoiding opening up concentration on multiple spells to any combination. That is antithesis to my goal and what I believe was the goal of the original developers. Simply put, I believe it is the wrong design decision. No matter how much playtesting you do, it opens the door to...

    D&D 5E (2014) Break my concentration redesign!

Thanks for the feedback! That's fair, but if someone wants to invest that many actions and spell slots, I'd almost be inclined to let them. That's certainly not in the spirit of those spells though. Easy enough to remedy: add a line to each of the smite spells that says "You can only have one...

    D&D 5E (2014) Break my concentration redesign!

Sorry for the long post. I wish there was a way to make smaller tables. Oh well. Anyway, here's the list. A few spells have question marks (?) as I'm still debating but you get the idea. So your job is to find 2-spell combos that could be a problem or broken. Thanks! Spell Level Type...

    D&D 5E (2014) Break my concentration redesign!

After concentration popped up again in a recent thread, I dug out my own notes and revisited the topic. Here's my quick take on the concentration mechanic: The concentration mechanic has been a great addition to 5E. Some spells are hurt more than others by requiring concentration and therefore...

D&D General Dwarven Forge New Set

Out of curiosity, what others have you backed? I backed Terrain Crate and their stuff is awesome. Great bang for the buck. And although technically not terrain (although they have had more pieces lately), the Reaper Bones KS have been great.

D&D General Dwarven Forge New Set

Oh no question. I have a bunch myself. My point was that the DF target market is the whales. They are not interested in catering to the mid-tier customer: creating sets and add-ons for those that have a budget of $100-500. What you get for that budget is minuscule. You are FAR better off...

D&D General Dwarven Forge New Set

I love Dwarven Forge. I backed the first three Kickstarters at "reasonable" amounts (few hundred bucks, give or take) and got a LOT of stuff. However, during the third Kickstarter they realized the real money was in the whales. A small group of people would buy literally everything so they...
