I also note that he has TWO copies of the Chicago Manual of Style.

Is a Shadowrun Conversion to 5e D&D even viable?

You could make a cyberpunk flavored D&D that way, but you could never make Shadowrun. The setting and mechanics are deeply entwined in Shadowrun and both differ quite extensively from D&D. That said, Shadowrun is a complex game, so I understand the desire for a simpler and more familiar rule...

    D&D 5E (2014) Forgotton Realms Canon?

I'm certainly frustrated. The biggest thing right now is that I want to introduce the gods, and we don't have an updated pantheon. I'm probably just going to stick with the 3E gods for now. What I really want is a multiple book set that is as comprehensive about the Realms as possible so that I...

D&D 5E (2014) Phandelver as Plot Point Campaign (Mild Spoilers)

The one in Necessary Evil is a fine campaign, but not a great example of a plot point. 50 Fathoms is the gold standard of the style. Lost Mine of Phandelver is definitely similar in style, though with a light touch.

D&D 5E (2014) How Much Would You Pay for Digital Access?

I selected $20, but my real price is $15. Don't know why, but that feels like the maximum to me. I'd definately prefer hardcover books to come with a registration code for the digital tools and various PDF and ebook options. Once I've paid for the book, I don't want to have to pay again for a...

    D&D 5E (2014) skill challenges?

I tend to have luck approaching skill challenges, or their like, by coming up with a handful of smaller objectives, obstacles, or opportunities for the players to attempt. The more they succeed at, the better their overall result. Even so, the worst result should still let the game progress in...

    D&D 5E Initiative Cards

I just uploaded a party card as well. It's a convenient place to track the PCs' AC, Passive Perception, marching order, and travel activities (such as scouting, mapping, etc.). It's also form fillable.

    Jeff Carlsen's D&D 5E Initiative Cards 1

I created an initiative card based on the D&D fifth edition stat block. They provide the DM with a method of quickly tracking initiative and having relevant PC and Monster information handy. I've provided for a static and a fillable version. How To Use When everyone rolls for initiative, write...

    D&D 5E (2014) Any word on (Full) 5e PDFs?

Sure, some publishers start more expensive during first sales, then lower their prices over time. RPGs don't usually follow this practice. 5E in particular is dependent on the books having a long tail in sales, due to the lack of regular releases. I'm taking these together because I believe...

    D&D 5E (2014) Any word on (Full) 5e PDFs?

ebook prices are generally comparable with a softcover release, which is produced as cheaply as possible. A more relevant comparison is the price of an ebook compared to a new undiscounted hardcover. In addition, for most ebooks, it's an either/or proposition. You don't usually buy both. For...

    D&D 5E (2014) Prestige classes in Next?

I agree with this completely. The only downside I see with Prestige Feats like this is that you have to wait up to four levels to take them. A prestige class could be entered with your next level if you qualify. I consider that a minor issue, though.

    D&D 5E (2014) Prestige classes in Next?

There could be a place for Prestige classes, but I think I'd rather have Prestige Feats for special organizations, or a additional boon system.
