[Wolfgang Baur's Custom Adventure] Deadline Approaching

News - From the Custom Adventure Livejournal. Posted: Jun. 26th, 2006 @ 09:17 am Deadlines for Patrons: July 4 When I launched this strange little project, I wanted to be sure it didn't drag out forever in a funding limbo, so I put a cutoff on it, early July. We're almost there. The good...

Nice side effect of Wolfgang Bauer's Open Design project

I'm a member of the project as well. I've really enjoyed the process and hope that posserers make it into the final module. The essays have been great and helped me rethink a number of things. I look forward to the next one on Traps and Hazards. Hoping of course that "hazards" are of the green...

    Cursed treasure.

I love cursed items. But I tend to play games set in the Known World and it seems like 1 in 10 magic items was cursed in those old modules. How about this... WINTERSCARRED SILVER (DC 20) History: The death of Olaf Stonesinger and his bodyguards in the Winterscarred Mountain was a great loss...

Sell me on creating new d20 fantasy PDFs . . .

The product in question is "A DM's Directory of Demiplanes". It has 3 five star reviews at Rpgnow. I has 1 three star review from someone that couldn't put a coherent sentence together. At EnWorld it has 2 five star, 1 four star, and 1 three star. It is available in PDF, POD, and Hardcover...

Sell me on creating new d20 fantasy PDFs . . .

Sorry Walt, I do see a lot of people say that Phil just writes equipment books. I apologize for lumping you in with the broader generalization I've seen.

Sell me on creating new d20 fantasy PDFs . . .

<begin soapbox> I think there is a terrible misconception out there. I don't know how it happened or why, but the A Dozen series and many of Phil's other books are not equipment books. If you look at any of the "Dozen" books that Phil writes they are adventure seed and campaign idea books. It...

Please help me identify a d20 product.

The series is known as the Expert Player's Guides, they are published by Mongoose Publishing. The first is devoted to arcane spells, the second to divine spells, and the third is filled with Epic Level monsters. The four...well, I'm not done compiling the fourth yet. The series can be found...

Sell me on creating new d20 fantasy PDFs . . .

I'm concerned that if Phil leaves d20 fantasy we will never see the proposed and long-promised 2nd release for the Possessors, and I just know there is a notebook that has scribblings on the 2nd volume of the DM's Directory of Demiplanes. :)

You would probably enjoy the DM's Idea Pipeline collections as well. They were written in the same vein by Phil and Michael, trying to provide a wide range of ideas as well as cool stuff.

DriveThruRPG.com to release 3.5 edition Dungeons & Dragons titles in eBook format

My FLGS is good for all d20 products. Very far about the exchange and good for preordering. The however have a terrible deal with distributors for WOTC books, and get gouged by the distribution cycle and need to pass the damage on. Coincidentally, most of my print product buying goes to Green...

DriveThruRPG.com to release 3.5 edition Dungeons & Dragons titles in eBook format

I have to admit that the DRM is typically a non-sale for me. However the price is making me take them into some consideration. I prefer my game books in PDF format and while they are at full american cover price they are technical on sale as Canadian as my credit uses a better exchange rate...

    Ringing the Cowbell - A D20 Question

I actually wonder how many DMs want adventures that draw from a variety of sources. To illustrate if we look at Wolfgang Baur's Custom Adventure project that is running here: http://customadventure.livejournal.com/ I think most of the suggested monsters selected by patrons were SRD or even...

    Ringing the Cowbell - A D20 Question

Dungeon Dive 4 - The Necromancer's Lair by Amalara used a wide variety of monsters from a whack of sources. It reprinted all the stats in the module and provided a brief overview of the monsters in the appendix to assist gamesmasters with monster they may be unfamiliar with. The major complaint...

    Epic Monsters by Mongoose Pub.

I think I would actually have to say that there is a lack of OGL monsters that... 1) Aren't crippled by obsfucated OGC declarations 2) Are developed to there potential (ie. I gave the monster 40 HD but I don't like the epic rules so I'm just going to give him Toughness (x8) to round out his...

I'm looking for a template - Diabolic (demonic)

Drat...Should be diabolic (demonic). Still Demon-Possessed, Blood Knight or Unholy may serve the bill from Advanced Bestiary. Unless other suggestions exist now that I've got the right class of creatures identified.

I'm looking for a template - Diabolic (demonic)

Has anyone seen a non-WOTC template that essentially is the result of a character becoming a pawn of infernal powers. Its a template I need to apply to character already in play so it needs to be an acquired template and not an inherited one. Anyone know of such a template?
