Rules for making golems (terracotta warriors)

Thank you very much Knight Otu. That table sounds helpful. Where can I find it?

Rules for making golems (terracotta warriors)

That's a good detail, thanks. The clay golem also has a "cursed wound" ability that prevents healing without beating a DC26 caster level check. I'd like to know how that DC was calculated so I can reverse engineer a different value for these Medium golems. I'd also like to know how to assign a...

Rules for making golems (terracotta warriors)

I'm looking at the construct construction rules, but they aren't very edifying. They only give values for making the printed golems. Not golems of any size or HD. I'm trying to make a 2 HD (CR 3) clay golem to represent a "terracotta warrior" that adheres to the official rules. Has anybody...

    the Awakened Animal thread

Hey Conaill. I just came over from the fish thread. I'm looking at the awaken spell right now, and I don't know why you say that the "features" of magical beast are not included in the statistics of an awakened animal. Is that what the "augmented animal" distinction means? If so, where are...

Okay, here goes ... can I get the stats for a "carp"?

I'm curious Conaill... why did you add darkvision to the fish? None of the other aquatic animals benefit from the same.

Okay, here goes ... can I get the stats for a "carp"?

Fair enough. Dexterity 15 it is then. My estimation originally came from the fact that a creature advanced from Tiny to Small and then from Small to Medium (the size of a porpoise) loses 4 points of Dexterity. So I didn't think the archetypal "fish" would have any less Dexterity than a dolphin...

Okay, here goes ... can I get the stats for a "carp"?

I don't know Conail. As creatures get smaller, they shouldn't get slower. Not all carp are the "coy pond" variety. Wild carp are very fast. Porpoises and squids both have a Dexterity of 17 at Medium size. The octopus has a Dexterity of 17 at Small size. Fish are Tiny. If anything, I would...

Okay, here goes ... can I get the stats for a "carp"?

Oooo... that I want to see. I imagine the dire fish and legendary fish graduate into the epic fish. *Dreams of epic fish.*

Okay, here goes ... can I get the stats for a "carp"?

That's the problem with D&D these days. Everybody wants the orges, the trolls, the giants ... the dragons. Nobody remembers the little creatures. Nobody remembers the fish. D&D needs more fish.

Okay, here goes ... can I get the stats for a "carp"?

I know what you mean. I drew my information from "all" of the aquatic animals. Using the rat a template for all tiny creatures, however, glazes over more details than I think it should. But you did draw my attention to the hit points. I will half them for the fish.

Okay, here goes ... can I get the stats for a "carp"?

The dolphin (porpoise) statistics really didn't cut it. So I came up with these statistics instead. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks. ----- FISH Tiny Animal (Aquatic) Hit Dice: 1/2 d8 (2 hp) Initiative: +2 Speed: Swim 60 ft. (12 squares) Armor Class: 14 (+2 size, +2 Dex), touch...

Okay, here goes ... can I get the stats for a "carp"?

There is a druid in my campaign who wildshapes into a carp all the time, and now I need statistics for it. I'd think dophins were too smart to be scaled back into carp.

Okay, here goes ... can I get the stats for a "carp"?

I'm looking for the statistics of a typical fish. I figure a typical fish would range between Diminutive and Small in size. Does something like this already exist, or would it have to be designed from scratch?

Is there a new standard for the "Large and In Charge" feat?

Ack! Misunderstandings abound. The half-ogre *earns* +2 Strength, +3 natural armor, 2 Hit Dice, and their Large size over 3 monster levels (a la Savage Species), but their base half-ogre racial traits include: +4 Strength, –2 Dexterity, +2 Constitution, –2 Intelligence, –2 Charisma.Medium: As...

Is there a new standard for the "Large and In Charge" feat?

As did I at first, but the half-ogre really doesn't have any abilities or adjustments that justify drawing it out that long. +2 Strength, +3 natural armor, and Large size. That's it. Drawing those abilities out over 3 levels seemed like a long time as is, but I can't imagine the half-ogre...

Is there a new standard for the "Large and In Charge" feat?

Interesting you should bring this up, because my whole reason for inquiring about this feat in the first place was to allow player character half-ogres to choose it. Like you apparently, I was not happy with the treatment of half-ogres in the Savage Species book, and made them 2 Hit Dice...

Is there a new standard for the "Large and In Charge" feat?

Actually, there is fairly big loophole. If the fighter advances 5 feet at a time (using the 5 foot step rule) then no attack of opportunity is provoked. During the first round against an ogre, it behooves the fighter to use the fighting defensively option, and during the second round the...

Is there a new standard for the "Large and In Charge" feat?

Derulbaskul. That is pretty much, if not verbatim, what I read in the Sword and Fist splatbook. Curious, what is the feat called in the Draconomonicon?

Is there a new 3.5 version of the "Large and In Charge" feat since Sword and Fist came out?

    Ability Score Generation

And here I thought I was the only one who used the organic method. But I stick to the method described in the Dungeon Master's Guide. Roll 4d6 (discard the lowest die), place in order, reroll any 1 ability score (take the higher roll), and switch any two ability scores. Like the method...
