    New version of Syrinscape Available

Best to run the uninstall program first... Hi questing! Great to hear people are still keen about it! I tried installing both ways... It didn't seem to mind, but probably safest to run the uninstall program first... It WON'T delete all your custom sound sets and it won't delete any custom...

Retrospective: 3.x stuff I'm glad I left behind

(Starting a 4E game soon) For me: Skills: Too hard to keep track of for casual players. As a DM it is nearly impossible to ensure that the skill values my players are using are anything like accurate! But did that ever matter? Grapple/ Sunder/ Disarm complexity: The reality of these moves is...

    Disappointed in 4e

Fear and trepidation This is soooo interesting! The guy who is currently DMing our campaign just announced that he will be buying up the 4E books. I had this pang of terror, because I have read so much bad stuff about it... but then I have read heaps of people defending it too... It seems...

    Too many natural 20s

I was once playing ludo with my 7 year old son. :) He got all his men through bar one... he needed to role a one to finish off the game... I had only one guy through out of seven. He roled 47d6 without getting a single one. I won the game... :D The very next role he...

    Too many natural 20s

Maybe they are famous last words for a DM... "OK, <lol> cool idea, it's not very likely, but I'll let it happen if you get... say a 19 or 20" ...rolls... "Oh!" <all lol> Ben

    Too many natural 20s

I LOVE THIS STORY!!!! SO COOL!!! That's what DnD is about... creating memories that players and DM alike will NEVER forget... I've had dozens of well balanced (fair) encounters that will slowly fade away, but it's the freakish chances, the disasters that strike the party out of the blue...

Personalised magic items... good... Hi, Great stuff you've written... consider it MINE... :) It's funny I expected an automated excel sheet or something... but it's actually much better doing it by hand, because it forces you to take a moment and actually create something that makes a certain...

How would this NPC bad guy react?

I think you've gotta let the pirate have a speach... I think he should invite (coerse) (intimidate) the party to have dinner with him... Maybe have a mock reunion... talk about how he's not really a bad priate after all... it is a noble profession after all, propose a working relationship...

    Armour rules from Unearthed Arcana

That said... That said... I tried to build a cleric for a new campaign (that I'm NOT DMing YAH!) I wanted a big fat Frier Tuck kind of a guy... wears no shirt and has low DEX... fights with a quarter staff... But in the end... how am I going to do with an AC of 12?!?! I've ended up...

    Armour rules from Unearthed Arcana

Extra complicated rules for fixing realism not worth it...? Me too... I've gone through various different stages of thinking, "Oh, this DnD thing is Sooooo unrealistic... Ah let's try this, that will fix everything..." I thought I liked Armour as DR, but deffinately more hassle than it's...
