So awesome!
Have you thought about mapping the areas outside of the Vale that are detailed in Dragon and Dungeon magazine and the published adventures? I think there are a few locations that have "fixed" points in relation to the Vale.
Skill challenges :-)
Do his opponents snipe him and then jump or climb to higher ground using athletics?
Is he caught in a situation where his only means of survival is diplomacy or an otherwise glib tongue?
Right after Christmas there were more 4e books for sale at my local used bookstores than 3.5 books! Now the balance has shifted back to mostly 3.5 stuff, however.
Dark Sun and Spelljammer really need to be the flagship settings for an entirely new set of rules divorced from D&D but still under WotC. Along with Star Frontiers and Gamma World, there needs to be a new sci-fi "core" like Alternity (and to an extent d20 Modern).
Throw Ravenloft into a new...
Guys, it snowed in North Carolina.
GSL delayed another month.
edit I knew that as soon as I posted this, the scathing satire of my words would cause the GSL to be released. You're welcome everyone.
I want all the combat/game mechanic stuff on the front page in a layout that lends itself to easily find information. Color coding would be nice, as well as "icons" to reinforce location of information in memory.
All the other stuff can go on the back, and the worksheet can go in the notebook.
The DCC module "The Mysterious Tower" is (if I recall correctly) fairly similar to "Ghost Tower of Inverness." Also, there's a HackMaster version of Inverness called "Demon Tower of Madness."
I don't know if there was an AD&D 2e conversion of Inverness, but just with that material alone you...
H1: Keep on the Shadowfell
H2: Thunderspire Labyrinth
H3: Pyramid of Shadows
Premium Dice
Dungeon Master's Screen
Adventurer's Vault
Dungeon Tiles: Hall of the Giant Kings (x2)
Dungeon Tiles DU2: Streets of Shadow
Starter Set (I'm a sucker for boxed products I guess)
I'll be picking up PHB 2...
I carry way too much and I need to figure out a way to cut it down. I use a laptop now, but I really prefer full analog style gaming.
If I can get EVERYTHING for a game to fit into one of those Staples brand cardboard storage boxes, I'll be happy.
I actually do like the d12, simply because it is the die with the most number of sides and the easiest legibility of the standard D&D poly set. I also like the 12-sided die because it can be re-purposed as a d4 or d6.
Next to the d12, I love my d7s. Mostly because they look so funky. Also, I...
Assassins, familiars and monks!
And with the PHB containing half-orcs and gnomes... wow, I almost have enough rules from 3 or 4 books to replicate what I had in my 1e and 3e PHBs!
If it really does have the Gnome, Half-Orc, Barbarian, Druid and Bard in it, then I want it. After I get Dungeon Delve, that should finalize all I need in the way of HC books for 4e.
It would be cool if you did have an open content setting though. Of course, I understand that you don't want some schlub publisher putting out "The Secret Furry Lifestyles of the Pathfinder Gawds" but it would still be a cool option.
The open setting, not the aforementioned book.
At my local used book stores, they were each flooded with 3.5 books right after Christmas.
However, if you're looking for 3.5 books for under 1/2 off, you may have missed the boat on that one.
Right now, WotC doesn't seem to have the resources to put into developing a game table with virtual 3-D customizable minis, 2-D terrain or any kind of minor rules implementation (such as light radius).
They seem to be in an even worse state in this regard than they were when the DDI was...
As a DM, I would say Dungeon Tiles. However, keeping in mind everything else on here is a book, I voted Adventurer's Vault.
I have great hopes for Dungeon Delve, when it is released.
I've been using OneNote to organize Warhammer 40k army lists and to transcribe handwritten scanned notes (that are far too messy for OCR).
It does indeed look like it could be a great DM campaign tool.
