and since all the missiles strike at the same time and all the images react to the strike at the same time, it works to conceal which is the real image..unless none of the missiles targeted the real mage.

The 5ft per image thing has always bothered me. It raises too many questions as to how each individual image affects the area around it. They don't threaten so any person who is near an image but not near the caster would realise it when the image did not try to protect itself from his presence...

Isn't there a long staff in one of the complete books that acts like a quarterstaff, but if you spend a feat on it you can negate flanking while using it as a double weapon or something. At work don't have the books handy.

Blink has also been known to be handy in the case of EBT. Its a tough spell and one that really gets the players and the Dm thinking and makes for the most interesting battles.
